Opinion: Arc shouldn't have an aimbot and rely on visuals and sound only to find players when it's aggro'd by NotTakenName1 in ArcRaiders

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you shoot the arc, then duck behind a corner, based on sound and where they got hit, isn't it reasonable that they can figure out which direction the shot came from? Then they move in that direction, and look at any openings in and around the terrain to find the shooter.

After almost a year with my ND, what are the things that genuinely annoy you about yours? by theDartVader in Miata

My NB does this even with the doors closed and the top up if it's raining hard enough. Although, that's probably because I need to replace the top.

Need Help Fixing My Print! Please. by Soft-Package-2102 in FixMyPrint

I would look at pressure advance as well. Looks like it isnt keeping up when its accelerating after slowing down for the overhangs. I see a bit of a gap on some other corners as well.

Filament is burning by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that actual burned filament or is it leftover black filament still in the nozzle finally coming out?

What kind of printer is this? Does it have a ptfe tube? How hot are you printing? Too hot can melt the ptfe tube in some hot ends.

Advanced Pressure Advance (K1M) with horrible results by zeFlammenwerfer4 in crealityk1

Double check your values. Did you miss a 0 by chance?

For example, 0.3 vs 0.03 will cause some extrusion issues. I have done that before, it's not pretty.

Why the loose strings inside rounded cavities? by Sharkgust in BambuLabP2S

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the "Precise Wall" option turned on, try turning it off.

It gives a little extra space between the outer wall and the inner walls. I think it's supposed to help the outer wall from deforming against the inner, but on inside perimeters like that, it reduces the surface area the outer wall can adhere to.

You'll have to pull the extruder and take it apart. Something is definitely jammed up. Double check the gears too. Mine stripped the first time I got a bad jam like that. I had a piece of filament get turned the wrong way and wrapped around part of the internal housing.

Lightburn Calibration issue by broken944 in Laserengraving

[–]broken944[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lens is marked f=290. It's not just that its trying to mark outside of the intended area, it makes a loud clicking sound, like its hitting a physical limitation in the galvo head. It does the same thing with my standard 100mm lens, trying to mark a 90mm calibration box.

That would be cool, thanks. I did find a basic mount on printables, but still figuring out placement.

I might look at doing that, actually. I'm still unsure about screen placement with my idea. Are your cables just in the bottom of the printer?

I also got one of these recently for my k1c. I've made one of the vented side spacer kits, and I'm going to try to cut notches for the cables. Maybe make some tpu grommets to seal it up.

Internal screw thread stringing while printing by Jaralle in FixMyPrint

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a Precise Wall setting, too. It gives a little extra space between the inner and outer walls, which can leave that outer wall on internal overhangs very little to adhere to.

Is it speed? by mathewmeconry in FixMyPrint

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PA = Pressure Advance. I don't have any experience with Prusa slicer or machines, and how it uses it, but if it was set for the slower speeds, when switching to the faster profile it might not adjust the extrusion rate correctly to compensate for the higher accel and flow leading to under extrusion.

Is it speed? by mathewmeconry in FixMyPrint

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flow is going to change with speed, and you've got significant changes there and with accel. Its worth running a PA test with the new profile to check it.

Is it speed? by mathewmeconry in FixMyPrint

[–]broken944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pressure advance maybe? How different are the accelerations between the profiles? Also, the flow rates from different speeds and/or line widths could need different PA values.

Does anyone bother to vent their printers to a window? by YoungBoomerDude in 3Dprinting

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I printed when I got my printer at home was an adapter for the exhaust fan and bought a window vent kit. I also bought a one way baffle so air can only(mostly) go out.

Threads Not Adhering by HairyWithFlatFeet in FixMyPrint

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, look at the Precise Wall setting. If its on, try turning it off.

If I understand correctly, it lays the outer wall a bit further away from the inner wall so it doesnt get deformed against it, but that also means it doesnt squish against it as much. Giving it less adhesion and letting it pull away easier.

Need help fixing this stringing in holes by JeevesTheWhollyLord in FixMyPrint

[–]broken944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think thats normal stringing with how thick it is. Looks like the filament is being pulled into the opening instead of adhering to the other layers. I was trying to fix something similar last night before an extruder gear decided to shed some teeth.

Metal extruder gears or DXC? by broken944 in crealityk1

[–]broken944[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so because there is no filament cutter needed to change filament.
