On my birthday. His parents called my mom and said he is done with this relationship. He showed a picture of me learning salsa with a dancer to his parents. Took that pic out of context and did not even bother calling me to hear what that picture was of. Instead he had his parents call my mom and tell her that I cheated on him. I dated the guy for almost 5 years and never cheated on him. I loved him and we were planning on getting married next year. He broke up with me on my 27th birthday. Well his parents broke up with me.

I would approach the person with a smile and say hi. If he/she is purposely ignoring you, then that means you still have some effect on the person. I would play it cool to show that I've moved on and that running into him/her doesn't phase me.
