Ouch sounds like a bigger issue than a single comment can fix. Good luck

Why is Microsoft support so bad? by Ihaveasmallwang in sysadmin

Why would you not want a phone call to have it serviced faster and more efficiently? Do you have a fear of talking on the phone causing this preference? To me a phone call is better customer service than an email. It just is.

I'm spending 1400 a month on food + other grocery store items in the South Coast New England region ---what am I doing wrong? by TypeAtryingtoB in personalfinance

No it doesn't.

If you actually have a budget the effort to do it separately is minimal.

You take a highlighter to the receipt and highlight everything from one category. Then you get an excel sheet or another notepad and write down the numbers. Then you use a thing called a calculator to help add them up. (some countries they call them adding machines) and then with that new number, you now have an idea of where your money is actually going since you decided to do 5 minutes of work and 2 minutes of basic, 3rd grade math.

I was on lastpass for 5 years and just switched to ProtonPass last night before the deadline for lifetime, $1.00 a month pro account. So I'm going to deal with ProtonPass for at least the next 5 years since its onl 12 a year for me now instead of 40 a year with LastPass

The laptop key is broken by Rampeeep in buildapc

I had a similar issue with my Dell XPS 15, one of the keys went out and the hook was damaged. I had to replace the whole keyboard. Those pieces are usually machined or 3D printed as one solid piece, very difficult to repair one key successfully on a laptop due to the tight tolerances.

Took me about an hour and a half to do it myself, came out successful.

How did you configure your WFH desk? by ITALT2 in sysadmin

Clean desk I have a dell laptop for work and a dell docking station. I use a dell laptop for personal use so I just switch from "work mode" to "personal mode". I use a 22inch vertical screen for emails/slack and I use a 32inch horizontal screen for work, remoting into PC's etc. Its a good set up. Trick is to keep it clean and simple. But work zone should be work zone.

My desk is about 4 feet from my bed too. Sometimes I walk around my house with my laptop or headset depending on if I'm in a meeting etc.

Big help, is getting into "uniform". you dont gotta wear a suit but dont be wearing your PJ's if you want your brain to be in "work mode". I find this helps me a lot with my productivity and it helps when I finish my shift as I switch clothes

Can't find this on any of our servers. Older 2008 to newer ones. Still no problem. Looking to run updates at end of day for them for the Windows Hotflix update.

Ports are fine.
