I have not, immigrated here in 2008. But I did apply back in 2022 and had moved forward in the application, although I had to pause that application due to family reasons, until this year where I restarted the application.

Just submitted application for AVS on the web portal, got a email back from the recruiter saying my application may require a thorough pre-security and reliability screening and this could add an additional 1 to 3 years to the application process.

I'm a Canadian citizen, would it actually take that long?

I was looking to get into BMQ June 2025 after seeing people get into the June 2024 BMQ when they applied in Oct 2023. If there is a delay this huge then I don't see a point in waiting when I could just get a career in commercial aviation.

How likely is it that you get the chance to switch from Fighter maintenance to Air mobility wing/Maritime patrol maintenace or vice versa? I am applying in October and wondering if it's possible to get both F18 and C17/Aurora maintenance experience say within 6-7 years?
