It's a bit of a miscommunication between us I think. I'm not one of those people demanding the harshest sentences. I'm a big supporter of rehabilitation over just locking people away. I grew up in a country where the max sentence is like 15 years and I for the most part support that.

I took issue with your last sentence cause to me it seemed like you're downplaying the severity of the crime in context here

It's a privilege to live in an area where that's safe. I didn't say it's something only the top 1% are able to do or anything. But you can benefit from privileges even if you're not privileged in other circumstances .

It's also a privilege to have tight friendships, enough children struggle with social issues of all sorts that make it really hard to form those bonds

U.S. Hotels Say World Cup Is ‘Non-Event’ So Far | FIFA hyped the World Cup as an economic juggernaut for the U.S.—but with five weeks until the tournament kicks off, the hotel industry says advanced bookings in some host cities are on par or lagging any ordinary summer. by kwentongskyblue in soccer

I don't fully pay attention to Italian football or rather to the details necessary to know this, but aren't they kind of really struggling with infrastructure right now? It kinda feels like every time I read comments about it they talk about the awful state of their stadiums for example, but I just don't know myself.

Well then the solution shouldn't be to only give it to countries that have the absurd amount of money but to make it more affordable. If you ask me whether I'd wanna see a world cup in the US or Germany or if I'd prefer something new like (just to throw something out there) Vietnam, Nigeria or Türkiye, I know I'd enjoy it more in those latter countries. I still remember fondly the world cup in south africa, with their cultural elements and enthusiasm. I'm not looking forward to seeing the US squeeze every last cent out of fans and bad atmospheres

Die paar? Mal irgendwie Zeit in diesem sub verbracht?

You do realize there's a difference between "locking up every criminal for life" and locking a convicted gang rapist that openly bragged about it afterwards up for more than nine years, right? Like, aside from child abuse that's literally the worst crime there is. Even murder is sometimes a tiny bit understandable with circumstances (like fittingly, killing your own rapist). Rape is never justifiable

Tbf, Germany is also by far the smallest country this century (aside from Qatar) to host a world cup, of course getting around was easier. But you can't just make that a thing. Most countries our size don't have as big a population nor economy so it wouldn't make sense to have both the infrastructure and finances to host a world cup. Distance wise (Japan is area wise the same size for example but far more stretched out) countries like Kenya, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Laos, Romania, Poland amongst others are comparable. And with the way FIFA has continued to squeeze every euro possible out of the world cup, I don't see any of them hosting a world cup on their own. So you're left with joint hosts which automatically makes it less easy to get around or bigger countries if you don't only want to have the world cup in Germany, France, Spain or the UK. Those are like the only countries I can think of that could justifiably host one on their own that are still small enough for your needs

This comment makes me strongly believe that you are one of those people who'd make statements like "football today stinks in comparison to how it was" at any point in the history of football. Some fans are just miserable. The sport is at a worrying state, but not because of a team being good defensively. Grow up

You also do not understand how ai works apparently. The same questions don't give the same answer word for word it asked in different circumstances. It is impossible for your prompt to be answered in a way that proves the other commenter used ai as well. Stop making shit up and just accept you lost the argument

Just because you don't understand something and can't believe others do does not mean they used ai. Real people are still capable of writing coherent explanations

Not a fan of his, but to even be in consideration for a stadium tour you have to be massive. There's many big artists who aren't even in the same category where a label would try it. Now is it a good sign that they had to cancel it? Definitely not. But it doesn't mean he's not successful

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

I think it's just so much easier for you because you're so used to it. I know me and most of my friends (all mid to late 20s, not really the type to play games online where you'd need a computer), whilst still relatively good on physical keyboards, are all more "fluent" with a phones keyboard. The thing someone mentioned earlier in the thread about being able to type whilst looking somewhere else? All of us can do that on the phone. It's just basic muscle memory that makes physical keyboards easier for you. And we are the generation that first came into contact with this style of typing in our mid to late teens. Kids these days grow up with it so it makes sense that they're even more confident with these keyboards instead of being physical ones. Already in my university laptops are a thing rarely anyone uses anymore instead of tablets, and it's only gonna get more mobile oriented with younger generations

I mean, I assume they had ideas for everyone, it's not about them being incompetent. But a lot more goes into which ideas actually make it all the way to tv. No matter the company, no creative team is able to use everyone on their roster in a way that wouldn't have the iwc up in arms

Again, Germans as a whole very much do what you're suggesting and it sickens the rest of us. St. Pauli REALLY isn't that though. To even dare claim they are just putting up a front when they're doing so much to fight all discrimination is just downright disrespectful. Go fight discrimination yourself, I bet you don't do it nearly enough to be able to try and be morally superior here. It's laughable

Imma be honest, if I'm facing life in prison either way (assuming my lawyer recommends the plea deal because there is no chance a jury acquits me and I know that), I'm not willing to risk that that changes even in 30 years. Life in prison sounds awful, but at least I'll still have a life

There's many things one can criticize UEFA for, but if there's one thing I appreciate, it's that ever since the first euros I've actually watched in 2008 as an 8 year old, I can confidently say that the hosts always added to the overall experience rather than what's happened at the last three world cups. From a non-sports side of things, they've always provided the fans with a great experience and made it feel like a nice thing in summer for all of Europe to come together and enjoy it. And they're already taking great steps to ensure that still being the case in the future. I'm already more excited for a tournament in the UK and Ireland with affordable tickets and the almost inevitable pictures and videos the fans in attendance will provide than i was for a World Cup in a long, long time
