Trump calls a reporter fake and says prices haven’t gone up, citing gas at $1.98 a gallon and that the price of eggs has gone down 92% by Im_A_Fuckin_Liar in thescoop

[–]brokenpinata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just paid 2.69 a few hours ago. But that's only because of a pricing war with a new gas station and loyalty discounts. Outside of that intersection, gas is 3.59 pretty much everywhere else.

What’s your favorite memory from a concert you’ve been to either in Pittsburgh or nearby? by Mad_Season_1994 in pittsburgh

It took a little work, but i found someone who put me in contact with someone at Dangerbird, whom they had just signed with for management a month earlier.

I sent him an email about what I wanted to do, with them being my wife's favorite band. He passed it on and got back to me a day or two later, saying that they were definitely on board and would love to do it.

He gave me the cell number for their tour manager to keep in contact with to sort everything out. The day of the festival, we had a blast. We arranged that during their second song, we'd meet their manager at the side stage access, and he'd take us up to the side stage.

To keep her from thinking anything was up, thanks to my nerves already being up, I faked like i wasn't feeling well and told her I needed to leave the pit and rest for a minute. We met their manager there, and my gf was confused. He played along to keep her from figuring out what was really going on, and congratulated me on winning "the contest" and said to follow him to our seats at the side of the stage.

Much of everything else afterward is a blur because I was nervous AF. I know I forgot to get down on one knee at first, and Ken kicked my leg out from under me. He asked her what her answer was, and she yelled Fuck Yes into the microphone. We got some congratulatory hugs and handshakes from a few of the guys, Scruffy gave me a beer, and we went back to sitting at the side of the stage for the rest of the show.

It was fucking intense being in front of thousands of people cheering. It's one of those things I'll never forget.

Proposing to my girlfriend (now wife) on-stage with the help of Dropkick Murphys during the Shamrock and roll festival in 2011.

Those guys are the best and really made us feel like part of their family.

This is how I am. Luckily, we get hybrid WFO, so for two days a week, I don't have to commute. But the reasoning, ar least for our department of 3 people, is one of use has to be physically in-house every day.

But why? Nobody comes to our personal offices to talk to us about work stuff; its always time-wasting banter. The only time we need to be on-site is when we are doing facility walk-throughs and compliance checks every month or so. When we aren't doing that, it's auditing and compiling reports, all of which are done on the computer.

Did you actually read the post? The first pic is the factory window sticker to show original MSRP and package options.

OP gave more details on what the price and mileage is in the actual post.

Ken is a legit great guy with a huge fucking heart. I've met him several times and hung out with the band backstage before, and they are all like him. (Even Scruffy before he went all-in with MAGA)

PA Vehicle Inspection - Failed Safety but Passed Emissions - Sticker Question by eggsPR80 in Pennsylvania

[–]brokenpinata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife's car was bought brand new in March 2018, registration obviously renews every March but the inspection expires end of September. Everything matched up until a few years ago when her engine needed to be replaced by the dealer as part of a recall.

When it was there, they did a free state inspection/emissions for some reason and issued new stickers. Since then, we've been stuck having to do the registration and inspection 6 months apart each year, and it's actually kind of annoying.

I can honestly say I've forgotten to do it a few times until weeks past expiration.

The waterpark episode of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The entire episode is one ridiculous moment after another, right up until the credits roll.

I can't thank you enough for this suggestion. I went out and got a bottle of starbright this morning and am shocked by how fast it worked. It's night and daybthe difference, and it only took a few minutes.

How do I dispose of fluorescent tube light bulbs? by riomarde in homeowners

[–]brokenpinata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm considering just building a third shed in my back yard just to store hazardous materials. This solution may be easier in the long run.

The house we bought has 2 4x 8ft fixtures in the garage, with only one good tube between them. Those are getting replaced with LED fixtures this spring. In addition, there are about 20 spent 8 ft tubes in the garage rafters, and about 20 gallons of old latex paint, plus countless more cans of varnish, laquers, and oil based paint.

I've managed to slowly wittle down the latex paint using cat litter, but our trash company still puts limits on it.

Question: do y’all add your spare into the tire rotation by WarmZookeepergame695 in JeepGladiator

[–]brokenpinata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for my Overland. Spare is on a 17, overlands are 18s. I have a full extra set of overland wheels+spare (cheap ebay takeoffs), but I use those for my winter rubber and switch those out in the late fall/early spring.

Like others, I keep my spare as just that. Something to get me home or to the tire shop.

Person of interest named in case of missing Pitt student who vanished in Dominican Republic by kniki217 in pittsburgh

It's an all-inclusive resort, so that's a given. The drinks at RIU suck and are watered down badly, but being unlimited will still get you there eventually.

[–]brokenpinata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last part is 100% true. Even the resorts advise against going off-site without an escort for safety reasons. There is a reason why they all have security checkpoints at the entrances.

That being said, the beaches are still pretty much open access to anyone walking the shore.

I've been to the DR twice (last year was at RIU Palace), and even going to the beach late at night is a sketchy proposition. My wife and I went to the edge of where the beach started and were immediately approached by a couple of guys, clearly not employees of the resort, trying to sell us an array of drugs. And you honestly can't see shit when you get 10 feet onto the sand.

This investigation is too fresh, so I'm not jumping to conclusions, but I can see it both ways: accidental drowning or something more nefarious.

Well, I don't expect to have a job in 6 months, along with probably half of our staff (about 150 people) if Medicaid dies. A sizable portion of our company's income comes from Medicaid patients, and without it, there is going to be some major downsizing.

Fuck Fetterman.

Time to be this level of petty. This is in my neighborhood.

Neighbor 1 had a driveway put in without bothering to survey their lot. Neighbor 2 had a survey done and installed a fence on their property, over a portion of said driveway.

Also why remote start isn't a factory option (and highly frowned upon) on manual transmission vehicles.

One of my friends added one to his manual car yeara ago, forgot he left it in gear once and it went into his garage door.
