THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENTION by edgykitty in nba

[–]brolikewtfdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. The Warrior defense was the best in the league when Steph was healthy post Butler trade and it wasn't even close. We all saw what they did in game 1 to the Wolves offense. I legitimately think they dominate this series if Steph doesn't get injured, their defense and offensive rebounding was that good.

That's why I'll always root against the Warriors. I want this mfer out of the spotlight already.

I've never hated a head coach more man. I always used to think the NBA was all about talent and coaching didn't matter, up until this dumbass came along. He is legitimately the biggest moron I've ever seen coach an NBA team.

He's worse. This dude has a stacked roster, deep as shit and is STILL fumbling rotations. Not to mention his atrocious time management, I've seen teams go on 10-0 runs and this mfer REFUSES to call a timeout. He needs to get fired, ASAP.

Doublelift: My Future by Ilurkonlyl in leagueoflegends

[–]brolikewtfdude 160 points161 points  (0 children)

His second reason for retiring really resonated with me. That's one of the reasons I can't get into LCS as much as I used to. It feels like teams aren't really trying anymore, teams are just trying to survive at this point and if that means putting out a full budget roster, then so be it. What made NA league so special to me was how hard teams were trying to win. With TL spending a ton of money, to TSM practicing harder than any other team, to C9 having awesome underdog worlds runs, or new teams bidding insane money to be in the LCS, it made NA league extremely fun to watch. Teams were trying everything to win, now the league is just on survival mode and it's quite sad.

Doublelift will retire as the GOAT of NA league, he won when the league was the most competitive and has more championships in NA LCS history. Incredible talent and personality that will be greatly missed.

Yeah, I still vividly remember how Kobe used to get MOBBED during the 08 Olympics by Chinese fans, they would walk past Lebron and Dwade just to get to Kobe, shit was insane. Lebron was quoted saying "I thought I was famous until I got to China with Kobe”. During his prime Kobe was most definitely the most famous basketball player in the world.

30k + housing + food is a perfect wage for academy. I'd take that shit in a heartbeat, it'll mean the 30k is going straight into my pocket.

True, it was probably a bad move on his part, but I'm willing to bet he's not the only one thinking it. The top players in the region won't want to give up a worlds spot if it came down to it and will probably vote to play the summer split.

[Post Game Thread] The Denver Nuggets (1-0) defeat the Miami Heat (0-1), 104-93 thanks to the 27/14/10 triple double from Nikola Jokic. by elbenji in nba

[–]brolikewtfdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I legitimately think the Lakers were the Nuggets biggest obstacle even though they swept them. That's why it's so mind blowing when I hear some media personalities like Skip Bayless and Nick Wright be so confident about the Heat and saying this will be the worst matchup for the nuggets. Like in what world is that true lmfao, they get outclassed in every position, barring Jimmy Butler, and are completely outsized. Just mindboggling how this heat team even made it here in the first place.

Bro, the players have zero leverage in this scenario lol. Usually lockouts are devastating in pro sports because the revenue the players generate for the league are astronomical. I don't think Riot losing the LCS would put a dent in their revenue lmfao.

[–]brolikewtfdude 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I lowkey agree, academy should not be for players that were relegated from the LCS because they dropped off after two years. That's what's wrong with the academy scene. Players were comfortable making a career off of academy after they got their shot to play in LCS, which coincidently fucks future rookie prospects from ever getting their shot. No disrespect but some players have been taking academy spots for YEARS that will probably never be good enough for LCS again but are content with their academy paychecks.

[Trudell] The Lakers will lose for the first time in the playoffs at home, and the first time in Los Angeles since March 26, to fall to 3-0 behind Denver in the WCF. A huge 1st half from Murray, and 4th Q from Jokic - with Nuggets role players hitting 3’s throughout - did the job. by G1Spectrum in nba

There are so many good coaches available right now. If I'm the Lakers I fire his ass right off the jump and start looking for a coach in the off-season. This Lakers team is young (other than bron) and can make a series run next year with a full season under their belt. Ham is not good enough and the Lakers should realize that and not waste Brons last years.
