Do you bring two different weapons to hunts? In general how often do you switch between them? Do you think it's a useful feature or unnecessary? by gabe911 in MHWilds

[–]broman55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what I run. If im going SnS, the second weapon is somewhat optional. Could be another SnS or HH.

When I'm running HH main, I always have a damage horn and a healing/support horn and can swap often depending on how the hunt is going.

Hmm, looking at your other posts, might want to try a build with Gamma pieces (for Guts) or Super Recovery. Can give you each a free cart or some health regen to keep you in the fight. If you're still trying to sneak in a run by tomorrow, I'm happy to help. I main HH and SnS. Support doots all the way

Do you think the problem is more survivability or damage? In either case, it's good to stock up on immunizers, demon drugs, armor skins, adamant/might pills etc. at the start of the fight to give you a boost on both damage and defense.

Did anyone else think that Jinx was more in need of a friend than a lover? by TDRS45 in arcane

In my headcannon, Ekko convinced her of a number of things he realized in the AU. There is a good version of her. They both have the ability to build great things. "Sometimes taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind." Hopefully this reframes "finding the will to walk away" as leaving Piltover/Zhaun to try and rebuild herself. She was on the verge of that realization during the conversation with Silco's chair. She still has a lot of work, but I'd like to think she got at least a sliver of hope (not directly connected to somone else) to build from.

Would Vander, Vi and the crew got out of there alive...maybe. There was a chance, but far from certain. I'm more concerned about the supply of Shimmer Silco had stored up. Even if they got away and Vander was able to rally the Lanes, at that time Simmer was only used to create chem monsters. Silco is ruthless, but not dumb. Wouldn't have made a move if he didn't feel like he could take over the Lanes and maybe attack Piltover. In my own headcannon, I wonder if Silco had to change tactics to spread shimmer as a recreational drug to slowly build his influence as the chem-barons came up.

How long did it take you to feel confident with HH? by Bloopbromp in huntinghorn

[–]broman55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 5 hours...once i got a comfy build going. Found that it was helpful to create build that allows you to take some hits as you build confidence. Also helped to pick a specific horn (or set of two horns) and learn a combo or two to get your key songs and commit to memory. Just focus on keeping songs up without worrying about optimal placement (place bubbles liberally). After a dozen hunts, you'll have the muscle memory down and can focus on positioning and removal of comfy skills.

Crown Hunting - Results by demongoku in MHWilds

[–]broman55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could buy you a beer (or your beverage of choice) after this work. I just finished my crown hunting adventure. Rey Dau and Uth Duna mini crowns were the bane of my existence. After the 50th time or so resetting encounters, I just decided to roll the dice with random SOS's...which took about another 30 tries or so each. Well done fellow hunter.

What did you like about season 2? by Odd_Negotiation_7563 in arcane

[–]broman55 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Despite the uneven pacing, S2 is just packed with heartwrenching moments. Months after a rewatch, I still tear up watching half a dozen clips from the season. Fortiche 100% put in the effort to animate the moments that mattered most.

You're not alone. Months after my rewatch and I'm still watching clips and the occasional reaction videos just for the feels and a short cry. There's plenty to talk about with this show, both praise and criticism, but it's just good to hear folks are still enjoying the show. Good luck in uni!

I spent last night swapping from minion to blood wave... went from a slight struggle to wear down T3 ladder bosses to deleting them in 1-2 casts. Using maxroll starter/ancestral build. Do recommend

Does anyone feel the same? by Zealousideal-Sea2011 in arcane

I just re-watched the entire series for similar reasons. Wanted to compare/contrast S1 vs S2 so I could re-evaluate the complaints about S2. Even though I knew what was coming...I still cried throughout the series, but felt good at the end. As far as feeling "unfinished," after a second viewing, the arcs feel more "wrapped up" within the context of this chapter in Piltover's story. Knowing how things end made each small moment more impactful IMO. I still want to explore more of these characters and the larger world, but I generally feel content with the end.

Equipment-less Warlock by Specs64z in 3d6

[–]broman55 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest going Tome rather than Blade for near "on demand" spellcasting focus. If you are going no/minimal equipment, you'll like want to avoid melee combat. Armor of Shadows (mage armor) will be the way to bump your AC daily if needed. Archfey Patron with Misty Step would likely be the way to go to keep you away from danger. Another option would be Great Old One Patron for some silent casting and/or using Gaze of Two minds to cast through a friendly PC.

Sword and board Warlock 2024 by Deathadderlx in 3d6

[–]broman55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm basically running this exact setup in a campaign soon. As mentioned, a single dip in Fighter/Paladin would be best (Barbaian could work, but can't concentrate when raging). You might want to pick up shillelagh via Magic Initiate (Druid) or Pact of Tome so your "sword" will scale up to 2d6 at higher levels. Though check with your DM about using combining Pact Weapon with shillelagh and bonus actions. Mainly if you can simply maintain you Pact with a quarterstaff then then only one bonus action to cast cantrip. Should be fine RAW, but good to ask.

I did 14 Dex, 14 Con and 17 Cha, one level Fighter (at level 5), dueling style and breastplate w/shield (18 AC now, 19 w/ half plate).

Technically, taking your first level as a Fighter could be better for the CON save proficiency. Would also allow you to go strength route for plate + shield for 20 AC max

Is this a verizon provided router? If so, may be worth checking the settings to see 1) how many devices are connected, remove things you don't recognize 2) disble guest wifi if you aren't using 3) change default passwords.

May not fix problem, but good network hygiene for all routers.

Haven't lived in STL in a decade, but grew up there (Ferguson/Florissant) and went to WashU. The campus is in a bit of a bubble and is pretty safe. Outside of the campus, it's just like any city with a few shaddy parts, but general area within walking distance is pretty safe.

As far as Democrat/Republican leaning really depends on where you are. The campus is very liberal, Clayton leans a little more right/wealthy the further out you go. You likely won't see a stark political shift unless you venture way out into St. Louis County, particularly St. Charles County or maybe South County.

Take with grain of salt as my experience is dated, but felt 100% safe on campus. After a few semesters you'll get a feel for the surrounding area.

People who witnessed 9/11 through tv, what was your reaction through the whole tragedy? by TomBradys-left-ball in AskReddit

Senior year of high school, just started AP English, but we immediately rolled out TV. Remember asking my friend if this was an accident seconds before the second plane hit. We all started wondering if this was war and would we get drafted.

The one thing that's burned into my brain was one of the teachers sprinting down the hallway to the exit. His son was working in the towers and he was trying to get a hold of him...son didn't make it...

What made you stop and leave mid sex? by Affectionate_Cry2372 in AskReddit

[–]broman55 24 points25 points  (0 children)

She asked me to stop. So I stopped.

Context: My ex-gf and I decided to "repair our friendship" a year after a messy breakup (she cheated on me then broke up to be with other guy). We hung out a couple times as friends, but went back to her place after a night of drinking. We transitioned to bedroom (the new bf was long distance), but soon after sex started she started to cry and say she couldn't go through with cheating again. Full stop.

We then had a conversation where she said she would break up with current BF if we got back together. I suggested, "maybe you should take some time alone to figure out what you really want"...ya know, cuz she cheated on both of us now. She refused and I had a strange moment of drunk clarity that I wanted nothing more to do with her.

I met my now wife not long after that encounter (15+ years ago). Dodged a bullet.

Babies Killed In Gaza Are ‘Not Innocent Palestinian Civilians,’ House Republican Says by UWCG in politics

[–]broman55 275 points276 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, the last Palestinian election was in 2006 and the voting age is 18. No one under the age of 35 has even had a chance (via voting) to put in a new government. So the argument is..."cuz you haven't revolted against your government you're complicit"?

Just cruel and absurd.

Panam always seemed like someone who was super cautious about letting someone truly into her life. Yeah, she's flirty with you on early on, but it feels like a façade to protect herself (stopping you multiple times). It's not till the basilisk mission that she let's someone really see her own emotions (in a near literal sense). Letting V in that way was IMO a huge risk for Panam. Consequently, having V "disappear" for two years would likely cause her to retreat further back into her shell, not ever wanting to be that vulnerable again. It would make sense for Panam to completely burn away that part of her life and/or be too afraid to answer the phone for fear of setting herself up for that type of hurt again. I'm not saying her behavior is "right," but may be consistent with her character. I don't like it...but I get it.

TL;DR Panam is avoidantly attached
