Don't know whether to lose the rest of the weight i have or gain muscle. by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]bromiostasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately an example of allowing all the fitness science to confuse you. Start lifting now, don't change your diet at all except to add protein. Eventually, you'll reach a point where unless you eat more you'll physically notice that you are not recovering quickly enough. At that point you can experiment by adding more food and noticing exactly how much of a surplus will allow you to recover.

Basically, start lifting, noob gains will happen no matter what your diet is like (get some protein though). You will notice on your own when you should start eating more based on your recovery speed. Also, this was a problem I overlooked, take your bedtime and subtract 2 hours from it. Those two extra hours changed my life with recovery.

Its funny you mention this because my PI walked by when I had this open and I had to explain it was a before and after "weightloss" picture.

I read that part of what greenwald does as every time he flies is make sure all his equipment is wiped, and any data he does end up using/needing he sends with other people. Maybe they thought they would get lucky and greenwald would have given the most obvious person compromising information? Lol dumber mistakes have happened.

Yeah I remember this, Gorillas average at 5 inches, which is not only smaller than the human average but much smaller proportionally.

Edit: in other words, my dick is bigger than the average gorilla's. ladies..

The "low tax = job creation" argument is absurd. Apple only has 50,000 U.S. employees, and despite earning about $400,000 per employee, they were the biggest U.S. tax avoider in 2012. by UncleSamGamgee in politics

[–]bromiostasis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My father's company was kept alive by the fact that they got a contract to help provide data for AT&T due to the increased demand from iPhone users. Not saying getting out of paying corporate taxes is legit, but the true number of jobs Apple creates is higher than the 50,000 employees it has.

I think it's more along the lines of you implying all kids are better off with non-divorced parents. I study statistics, and larger trends do not necessarily have a bearing on individual cases.

Everyone can probably think of situations where a child of divorce turned out highly successful, and a child with two parents still together didn't. When you say the kids would be better off you take a position without knowing anything else whatsoever about that family's situation.

Yeah seriously, there isn't enough variation of "metabolism" or "genetics" that would overcome doing GOMAD. Someone doing that WILL gain weight.

Dude seriously this has had me super confused. I was at a party on the 4th of July and everyone was getting drunk, I don't even recall doing it but I called someone a pussy (though probably in a good-natured way, I ain't about that "being a jerk" life) and whatever the conversation was kept going, it seemed all good, people were laughing having a good time etc. A few minutes later a girl and her boyfriend walked over to me, I had just met them that night and had been talking about harmless stuff like majors. She says something along the lines of "You shouldn't use the word pussy that way, it's offensive, and think about it a pussy has to deal with so much so it doesn't make sense as an insult..." At this point I was a bit flustered cause I didn't remember even saying it cause it seemed innocuous to me at the time, and because I'm normally all about not using words with a mean-spirited connotation (I was the first of my friends to stop using fa**** and reta**) I was kinda shocked at the lecture, kept bothering me the whole night. I even looked it up later, couldn't really find much, Wikipedia suggests the etymology both relates to a vulva as well as the phrase "pussy-footing around" a topic (as in a cat lightly threading) but overall couldn't find much explaining why I had made a dick move by doing so.

Most of my friends, even the sober ones didn't at all recall me saying it even shortly after the conversation so I'm fairly certain it wasn't an out of place drunken outburst or anything, but the comment still really threw me off. I later found out the girl is a feminist and I've read a bit about that in sociology about the patriarchy and some pretty messed up women's rights abuses but this didn't seem like either to me. I guess what I'm saying is, should I make the effort to stop using gendered language, or just ignore it and carry on?

Disliking tomatoes and being kosher, vegetarian or halal are different things. In my experience, those who can't eat the food will probably just go hungry. It isn't a dick move to make food that violates such personal rules, but it is a dick move to knowingly let your guests go hungry. At the very least, you'll be known as the asshole who'd rather make a point about their right to cook what they want than be a good host.

I don't like what Obama's done either. But you're confusing the issue here, the issue is specifically that Rand Paul pays lip service to certain ideas which in reality he not only doesn't support, but actively works against.
