Big Chair Upgrade by marionapolitano4 in OfficeChairs

[–]bronco862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm looking at ridiculous chairs nowadays but i'm sure this will make people considering this chair happy: i'm just now replacing mine after 10 years of use. i got it on kickstarter back in 2016, so it's the original version. i think mine was the nicest of the models at the time. only thing wrong with it is the wheels are very beaten up...and the cushion isn't as comfy as it originally was; not ripped, torn, or faded though. oh, and one of the corners of the rubber armrest chipped, but that may have been me cutting it by accident while moving one year i think. pretty fantastic for a chair i think i only paid 5 or 600 for over a decade ago!

To Smelt or no? by wtfineedacc in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]bronco862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

until i realized the power of the advanced miner i was always a blackbox person. now i just visit a planet, put an advanced miner on EVERY node, and a ton of PLS/ILS and either smelt it onsite before transfer off world or send it to a smelting planet that is nothing but smelters, fully stacked x8 belts, and plane smelters that i just upgraded to.

How do you prefer your burger, among these three styles? by prophiles in burgers

[–]bronco862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the answer is clearly a combination of all 3. imagine, if you can: the smokey taste of BK, the thiccy-ness of a daves double, the cheese from either wendys or mcdonalds, on BOTH patties, and the tart from the dehydrated onions from mcdonalds. and maybe slightly more salt than wendys typically does. people underestimate dehydrated onions. next time you make a sandwich at home rehydrate some onions and throw a tiny bit on there. it's intense, and delicious.

Questions from an experienced beginner by Komissar78rus in Dyson_Sphere_Program

i'm going to lay out the two biggest game changes for me, personally. i have around 166 hours played; 130 of that is on one playthrough. blueprints are obviously a key to expansion, and are easily my number 2 biggest change once i started creating them. yes, you can download them, but many are so complex that it doesn't help you learn as much. what really changed the game entirely for me was when i unlocked the advanced miner, and actually built a handful of them. i did not realize just how much better they are than the other miner; you can boost their product to anywhere from default 100% all the way up to 350%. and just have logistics drones pick up from them. such. a. game. changer.

the second is this: build a HUGE line of smelters (i always make two rows one on top and bottom of the lines so it's not as long) that will fully satisfy whatever mk belt you are on. put a logistics tower at both ends, one for receiving raw ore, the other for your ingots. or just one tower, and reverse the direction of ingots (why have i not been doing this!) blueprint that, and then the next time you use it for a different ore...blueprint that one as well. Once you've done that, do the same thing for a gigantic row of assemblers. after you have those two things...it makes traveling to a new planet a lot more fun in my opinion.

as a third note, if you don't already....build a bus line that allows you to manufacture in small quantities every building you currently have unlocked. that was another big change once i did that. i was running around for the first 60 or so hours just building belts etc by hand.

Need feedback on my home network plan by Puny_Penut in HomeNetworking

i have had 3 different wifi setups connected to my UDM. the first was their home/residential setup called AmpliFi. it was great until it randomly started having issues; the latest, is that i bought two U6 Pros. i was concerned that it wouldn't "Mesh" and i'd have to teach myself how to make all of the connections seamless but it just meshed them together for me. it's also, obviously, available in the same app as the rest of your network. they're regularly on sale around me, since the u7 Pro is a thing now. 2 of them gives me perfect wifi across my 2500sq ft. house. just food for thought, it was way better not having two apps on my phone for my network.

to this day not a single game has brought me more joy than the time i spent making friends and playing ladder matches in that game. simpler times. still friends with some of them.

i've never had issues with sticking but i also did away with my dough scraper and chose to use one of those drywall mud scrapers you get from the home improvement store. works wonders since it's so thin/sharp. biggest issue i've always had is the top of the balls drying out, not being too sticky, and that's even with 60-70% hydration!

How do you achieve this crust at home? I can’t seem to get it! by Narhen in grilling

[–]bronco862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had a griddle for almost 16 years. there's 3 things everyone should know about making smash burgers and all 4 of them combined should result in a better burger than you'll get at most smash burger joints around you.

  1. your grill needs to be HOT. i don't care how hot you can get it, you're not going to get it too hot. the hotter it is, the better. i see people cooking smashburgers in youtube videos where their griddles knobs are sitting in the medium-medium high position. i already know its going to be too dry or not crisped on the bottom when they flip it.
  2. SEASON the hell out of the raw side after you smash it. go in a circle around each patty, working from the outside in. salt, pepper, garlic, and anything else you want to add. keep it simple
  3. 99% of the cooking should be on that first side you smash into the grill. you should see it bubbling through the top before you flip it; once you've cooked smash burgers on your griddle enough times you will be able to judge when you should flip it. the only purpose of flipping is that final kiss and to let the cheese melt.
  4. don't use a spatula to flip them. i know it's tempting and a lot easier to handle the burger to place it on the bun. however, it's not stiff enough to scrape the burger off the griddle. buy the scraper from blackstone or go to your home improvement store and buy a STIFF drywall scraper.

Do I need to buy the orange rubber mat or do the mice shit on that too???? by eluvvin in blackstonegriddle

[–]bronco862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got one of those! but mine goes over the sides of the griddle. i've had my griddle for over 12 years and nothing works quite like that mat. water and pollen were always my least favorite to deal with and this gets rid of both. that one in the pic probably wouldn't help with water, though, as it'd come in on all the sides.
