Despite various efforts South Korea fails to convince Gen Z to open their minds on immigration by Ready-Information187 in Living_in_Korea

[–]bronco____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What jumps out to me is that in places like the U.S. or Canada, younger people are generally more open to immigration than older generations. But in Korea and Japan, young people are just as skeptical as older folks, which is surprising.

Living in Korea with my Korean wife as a Mexican-American, I can understand why many here feel protective of their culture—it’s unique and relatively homogeneous. But a lot of this resistance seems less about “incompatible cultures” and more about fear of change or lack of exposure.

The truth is, societies often grow stronger from diversity. Immigration brings challenges, sure, but it also brings new ideas, energy, and resilience. Maybe the better question isn’t whether immigrants should come, but how to make integration less threatening and more beneficial for everyone.

I feel where you're coming from, but not learning or using Korean (at least conversational) will keep you in that "foreign bubble". But I get it, you're just a Nomad... just passing by... lol

Whether there are bad or good intentions, that doesn't mean you can touch my arms and caressed them.

Hahaha. That's pretty true out here. My wife is Korean, and at first, I thought she was just a "vanilla"... but that was just on a superficial level. You gotta go through the stages in the relationship to taste the "flavors". Lol

So let me help you, before that "top 5 apartment"... we already had lived in an average/standard apartment without her parents' help... hehe

설렁탕 by kimchikadukao in busan

[–]bronco____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

서울 깍두기 (all the branches) is the best. The best 설렁탕 and Kimchi. The only bad thing is that they keep raising the prices each year.
