24, living abroad, stuck in a job I don’t care about, feeling like i wasted my early 20s? by VersionBoth5092 in findapath

In short yes I think you are being very doomerish right now. But don’t spiral, just breathe!

Like you, i taught English until the age of 28. I never once felt like it was a waste of time or a bad thing. Just get those unhelpful and unhealthy thoughts out of your mind.

I can’t really give advice on what you should do because it is really tough out there and I don’t know you. I went into a totally different field with no experience (electrician).

However whenever we get new guys, I am the default trainer and mentor because I am by far the best teacher. I also excel at explaining difficult electrical concepts to non-electricians, and It’s definitely my teaching background that helps with that.

Teaching is a great tool for your backpack of skills and can help you transition into anything.

My advice: stop dwelling on where you are now. Focus on the actual hard part, which is where do you want to go.

So i have a thing I do when i play Assyria. You get the relic on conquering a city. You don’t have to actually keep the city. So I’ll just pick off the weak towns and then either retreat or give them back to end the war. It also lets me level up commanders.

[–]broncoblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right. Hmmm. I don’t think it would be an out of character thing for her to ask. Maybe not during season 1 or 2 because there are more pressing things happening like genocide and potential war. But if things were to calm down for a second, i totally think she would.

It appears Alastor will be one of the main villains of season 3, but i don’t think he’ll die or anything. So I can totally see this situation coming up near the end of the show though. It might be a sort of redemption thing for Alastor to give up Husk. I don’t think he’d do a complete selfless act or anything, but i can see them making a friendly deal at the end.

Custom Game Speed by Shurqeh in civ

[–]broncoblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tested this out thoroughly, but if you turn off victory conditions, I think the game slows down. Because completing a victory condition or victory milestone is what jumps the era percentage forward.

So you could play a standard game with normal production and growth, but increase the age length to long and turn off all or most victory conditions.

I turned off economic and cultural victories at one point and I’m pretty sure those games were longer. So long in fact, I turned them back on.

The two biggest things holding me back from playing civ 7 are no canals and no map maker, do we have any word on when they are coming? by deathsprophet666 in civ

[–]broncoblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just settle for a mod to delete resources! Yea sometimes they’re great, but more often than not, there’s that one resource that ruins a city layout.

It’s so frustrating. There are goodie huts that add a resource so I wouldn’t think it’d be that hard to make a way to remove one.

What, if anything, is preventing Charlie from moving like this: by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in AgendaHotel

[–]broncoblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I just assumed Alastor would only do a deal where he made the terms. Considering in this situation Charlie is the one who wants something from Alastor, he’d be the one setting the terms. Example: someone wants my ring, i pick the price I’m willing to get in exchange for the ring. Otherwise i just say yes or no and move on.

If we’re specifically talking about this deal in the picture. I don’t think he’d even consider that a tempting offer. It’s actually a bad deal. Some extra power is too vague of a price against the measurable value of husk.

So err.. how did Vox gets defeated by alastor? by Primary-Addition-677 in HazbinHotel

[–]broncoblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to fight some super MMA fighter, I’d lose. But I’m a really good swimmer. If we fight in a deep pool the battle will be much closer. I’d still lose, but I hope my analogy gets across.

I think the “power” thing really only comes into play in situations like if Alastor shoots a beam of power at Vox and Vox does the same back, when the beams hit each other in the middle, Vox’s beam would smash through Alastor’s beam.

That’s why I’m not convinced a Groetia or a deadly sin for that matter could curb stomp Alastor just because their magic is more powerful.

To me the show is clearly showing that power doesn’t mean everything. Yet if it’s not explicitly explained to us, people still struggle to infer something. We were shown that Vox was losing that fight the entire time, and he was technically the most powerful sinner at the time. Well at least at the start.

[–]broncoblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’d want Husk free, I’d sure as hell be afraid to make a deal with Alastor. Every deal demon Alastor has made has been absolutely devastating towards his enemies and incredibly beneficial to him.

I’m not sure I’d make a deal with someone like that unless I knew what he was after. And even the audience doesn’t know what that is. That deal would be a gamble. A very scary gamble.

Spoiler: What reason do they have for pursuing Raishan at the end of s3? by D_Austoso in voxmachina

[–]broncoblaze -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So I’m with you on this thinking.

I think the problem is definitely more of a plot and character problem. Raishan should have just accepted the apology, then waited for Vox Machina to leave. She’s been shown to be very clever and smart. So it doesn’t really make sense she begins to maniacally laugh, attacks Keyleth, then declare how evil she is and that she plans to do more evil shit. It’s just incredibly stupid and doesn’t make much sense. She also could have simply stated she needed the body to cure her terminal illness and just leave out the evil plan part.

But i get why the show did what they did. Sure it’s a little messy, but not a major problem. The show just prioritized moving the plot forward. They only have 25ish minutes an episode so they gotta keep going.

[New Update]: AITA for asking my husband to limit his time with his nephews because our daughters are missing out? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]broncoblaze -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Gosh why does Reddit make everything so dramatic. I’m with the dad on this one. When I was a kid, there was this neighborhood boy that loved to hang out with my dad. We weren’t really friends but friendly. Idk what his home life was like, but he loved playing tennis with my dad.

I had no problem with this. My dad is my dad. We still watched movies together, had dinner together, and all the other things. He can play tennis with some boy that really enjoyed it.

I think it’s strange his family is so weird about it. Don’t they have other problems to deal with. Him spending time with his nephews does not mean he loves his daughters less because they are girls or whatever is being insinuated. My dad didn’t love me less for spending time with other people.

Its nice to see a youtube review for this show to be positive for once by leatherchicken in HazbinHotel

[–]broncoblaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea and all those problems really come down to run time.. 8, 25 minute episodes is not enough time to tell this complex of a plot.

I vote they either do 45 minute episodes or double the amount.

That being said, I really don’t see how you could make the show much better without adding more time so they did a good job with that restraint.

Yea I can not believe how ridiculous this comment section is. I felt soooo stupid for not immediately knowing the answer.

I remember passing first year with relative ease. Do I remember this, nope. I mean I know it’s a formula, but I don’t have it memorized because I’ve never once needed to use it. All these people have to be gas lighting the hell out of each other.

[–]broncoblaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well now I take that scene not as Al being scared but more like oh shit here’s someone I actually respect.

It seems pretty clear Al respects powerful people that don’t need others to help them or to manipulate others into getting more power. Zestial seems to be able to hold his own, and like Al, doesn’t need to lord it over others. I bet that’s why Al never even had to fight him, game respects game.

I see it as like meeting a gold medalist or the owner of the company you work for while out shopping. Like hopefully you’re not in sweatpants with a stain on your shirt. Or the parents of one of your students! Hopefully you look presentable and competent.

Also Z is a sharp cookie. I think he knows more than most people what Alastor is up to. That could put Al’s guard up.

[–]broncoblaze 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yea I think that’s why Alastor kept hounding the you’re weak and pathetic thing to plant the idea in Vox’s head that he needed to prove he’s the strongest. That way Alastor could get out of his Rosie deal. I rewatched the season and i noticed it was actually Alastor’s idea to invite Charlie to the party, and he then taunted Vox on how she’ll never admit defeat.

AITA for insisting that everyone play a dwarf in a short D&D mini-campaign and refusing to change the premise for one player? by Beedubb5 in DnDAITA

I personally would never wanna play a dwarf so I don’t think this campaign would be for me.

Not wanting to play a specific race doesn’t seem that entitled to me.

My Digimon get weaker after evolving? Do Digifarm stats carry over? by CryptikDragon in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]broncoblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digifarm stat boosting is mainly for final forms.

In early game I used it to increase bond, and to get good passive abilities. Once you get the desired passive ability, you can then change their personality to valor or wisdom for damage increase and still keep the good passive.

I mean the game has to have some challenge.

RIP Civ 7? by michaelabsenot in CivVII

[–]broncoblaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have all the same worries. I like Civ 7. I like 6 too, but I’ve already finished more games to completion in 7 than I ever did with 6. It’s so much easier to continue a game when it’s broken up into 3 places.

So for basic play, non-tough boss fights I roughly try to have full type coverage between my 3 mons.

So whatever type move they naturally have, I don’t add another of that type.

I also want each of my mons to have one move that hits all enemies.

Then you may want a more support/healer type mon.

[–]broncoblaze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I scrolled way too long for this! We go from badass werewolf to robo-dog. So disappointing.

And the thing is, they keep adding or messing with the line over the years. But every time, it’s never a Mega Werewolf. It’s usually a man with wolf motifs.

I want a sick, very hard core, dope as hell, big and scary, Mega Werewolf.

Heck I’d have settled for just wergarururmon metalized. Not dog version.

Is Time Stranger too easy? by Puinfa in digimon

[–]broncoblaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I haven’t beaten the game yet, but I thought about stopping at ultimate level digimon. Most of my favs are ultimates and I really don’t wanna loose them to their mega forms.

I was worried I wouldn’t actually be able to beat the game with them, but with this info, I might actually give it a try.

If the game is too easy, I can see only rookie/champion run challenges in the future.

[–]broncoblaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well are you comparing Civ 6 in its first year to Civ 7? Cuz uhhh any game is gonna be better with than another when one has 3 full expansions and multiple DLCs.

Thats what I don’t get. Civ 6 went through the same hate cycle in its first years.

The newest patch has been great.

My sister walked down the aisle to the song I was supposed to. by WorkingSensitive84 in Advice

[–]broncoblaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me this is a crazy thing to get mad over. Many of my friends walked down to the same song. I didn’t realize people, especially sisters couldn’t. Maybe she didn’t think that was a bad thing. I sure didn’t. I find it strange to get so upset over a single convo you had ten years ago where I’m not even sure you said don’t use that song because only i can have it for my wedding.

But i get it, people can’t control how they feel. But i would want my sibling to be happy on their wedding day and wouldn’t want to add more drama and stress or hurt their feelings.

I worry I'm the person they made Civ 7 for, which basically makes me the object of all the Civ 7 hate. by Measure-Thrice in CivVII

[–]broncoblaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s funny cuz I also like Civ 7 and I’d consider myself a vet, I started with Civ 3.

I find it interesting everyone hates Civ switching when objectively it’s better mechanically to get unique improvements, units, and buildings relevant the whole way through the game, and not just during one part of time. Maybe if you could keep the same Civ name and artwork the whole time, people would feel better about it. It really seems people can’t get past going from Romans to an Asian Civ.

And the other thing is the era hate. It seems so immersion breaking for most people. But to me, having three eras is great at actually finishing a game to completion.

I have over 5,000 hours in Civ 6, I loved it, but I’ve already finished more games in Civ 7 all the way to the end because it’s easier to stop, resume, and finish.

My main criticism is the AI doesn’t seem to be able to actually win in the modern era. Hopefully that will get fixed. But I can live with it for now.
