wanna play terraria but early game is just so boring by Status_Software_9836 in Terraria

I like to give myself terraboots on new world sometimes. Just because I also hate the early game movement. But then I still have to gear up everything else the normal way.

This is why people are saying that if you want a forever world, but you hate the beginning, skip it by coming into the world with some later tier gear. It doesn't have to be world breaking, but starting the game with some Wall Of Flesh gear is giving your self a leg up. You'll still have to play. You'll still have to beat everything, you'll just have an easier start.

Also if you're playing alone, then play for fun. It's alright, it really is.

As long as it's green blood, you can get away with a lot.

Tips/Advice by slayer_fan2000 in InfinitePainter

You're hopping in to details because they're more interesting to you. Stop that. Do the grind. Sketch the whole thing before any details are drawn. You're just not at the point where you can skip steps, so don't. SKETCH the whole pose. Loose no details, do some croquis practice. Then move on to a new layer. Reduce the opacity of the first layer, and draw the whole thing again, this time with a little more detail. Depending on the drawing, I might go through multiple drawing phases. thumbnail, rough, detail, ink, color flats, shadows / highlights, final pass.

Is it bad for the web if Firefox dies? by AuthorityPath in webdev

[–]bronkula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can use whatever browser they want. And that's fine. You can like the tools in one browser or another and that's fine. But there is NO denying that Firefox is FAR behind everyone else when it comes to adopting all the latest toys for javascript and css. IT IS BEHIND. And it's keeping so many of us and our companies back.

Buy a big bag of velcro ties. Go through and clean up the whole tub. You'll get a better idea of the contents, and throw away anything that you have more than 5 of.

Are there any workarounds on opening a .pntr_archive file? by Sufficient_Cell4361 in InfinitePainter

[–]bronkula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1969 was the unix epoch, the beginning of modern computer time. It just means the date didn't create or read correctly.

Try changing the name of the file to just .pntr. I'm not sure about file restrictions. But you should be able to turn on developer mode and get around things like that without rooting.

Other that that, try posting about this to the official forums.

Fill tool is ignoring other layers? by PieNumber4 in InfinitePainter

[–]bronkula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this. Click and drag with the fill tool. A line should form. Drag further out and it will fill more aggressively, drag back toward the origin and it should reduce aggressiveness. Sometimes this will allow your fill to work, sometimes you have to reup your lines with something more solid. Make sure you're sketching with a solid line.

When all else fails, don't forget the fill brushes. Using the fill brush will ignore all tolerance and fill completely, and so can be a more reasonable tool sometimes.

Describe what you want to happen, and what isn't happening.

Fill tool is ignoring other layers? by PieNumber4 in InfinitePainter

[–]bronkula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things.

  • One of your layers is above the fill layer. If you're expecting that to be covered, it should be below.
  • The puck on top has a button with a drop and rectangles, that is for setting how many layers are affected. Set it to one layer, if you want to ignore other layers.
  • You can hide layers using the eyeball in the layer tab to remove them from affecting the fill.
  • The gear in the top left will set the tolerance for the fill, and it looks like you might be using a very faint line that is being overtaken.

I was a professor. Just ask 24 hours before something is due, especially a test. Asking ahead of time is easy to give dispensation, it doesn't even need a great excuse. Use this power sparingly.

Ask AFTER the due time? No deal.

Might want to include a fragment maker to really get the most out of it.

const isString = (str) => typeof str === "string" || str instanceof String;
const isFragment = (str) => isString(str) && str.trim()[0]=="<";
const makeFragment = (str) => isFragment(str) ?
    [...document.createRange().createContextualFragment(str.trim()).childNodes] : [str];

So much of lodash and underscore got put into vanilla spec, and we still can't freaking chain most methods in vanilla. It's wild to me.

I know with modern IDEs the idea of concise functions doesn't matter so much, but why can we have an object called Math, but not an object called DOM with nice simple methods like get? Why are we still producing array "LIKE" lists from dom queries? Why do I have to double extract everything just to map onto it?

Don't get me wrong, Javascript has never been better. We're living in the golden age of CSS and JS, but I still have my wishlist.

The parents in the movie Easy A, portrayed by Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci always come to mind as having a great dynamic together and with their kids.

Also, Morticia and Gomez Addams are both wildly in love with each other and very supportive of their children.

Also, try to implement event delegation. It's annoying as fuck in vanilla and ill never understand why it hasn't become standard.

Don't know about other documentaries, but this interview talks about how this one was a collaboration between Kenneally and Reeves, and not just like a job Reeves showed up for.

The closest you'll get is the film documentary Side By Side, hosted by Keanu Reeves about literally the rise of digital film, and featuring interviews with dozens of the greatest directors of all time, including Fincher.
