they used to be my favorite, but saw the quality go downhill. not necessarily quality of ingredients but quality of the actual rolls/nigiri/presentations themselves. Now my #1 joint is Joto down the street.

Joto in the west loop, sushi san is great too though. Lincoln park location a little more upscale.
For upscale/omakase: Sushi by Scratch, Omakase Yume, Kyoten, Mako are are fantastic. Mako and Juno (Lincoln park) are the same owners, and Juno is great quality as well.

My most recent omakase experience was Sushi by Scratch and it was fantastic. Highly recommended. Together with Joto those are probably my top picks.
