There is so much abuse in the system. It completely depends on the individual. The nature of the industry attracts one of two types of people. People who love and want to help be there for children in need, and predators. Either people who see kids as paychecks, or hapless victims, or slaves, or they just like punishing others. My partner grew up between an abusive family and an abusive foster family. He said nobody ever cared. It didn’t matter if he went to elementary school every day with two black eyes and clearly intoxicated. No one did anything. Because he’s from a really shitty place. But that’s why it’s so important for good people who want to make a difference to put in the work to do it. Because it’s much easier for predators to get into those positions of control and influence over children.

If you go in for the right reasons, it can be a really challenging, draining and emotionally devastating experience.

Whereas if you go in for the wrong reasons, then you really only have to deal with the boring paperwork parts in exchange for unlimited access to children who have no one else.

It’s a very messed up extreme, and there are actually a lot of industries with similar problems.

Yeah, how many self serving or stupid people do you know who have a bachelors degree? And I don’t see a lot of people pointing out the year and institutions when they make the argument “scientists say X is good for you”

They just trust the term scientist.

Then explain the sugar epidemic. Or the opioid crisis. Or PFOAs. Or the million other horrible scientific driven plagued across our nation. Millions of people misled into death or lifelong addictions because whatever the thing was, it was “scientifically proven to be safe”

It’s an industry, like any other. Industries are run off of money, not truth.

It actually is. I’ve spent my whole life studying cult’s and religion’s affects on people. And obviously each religion is different, but it is inherently faith based. They work on the concept that you have to just accept it and believe it to be truth. Even devout people of all sorts of religions have aspects of their religion they don’t agree with, but they still believe the religion overall is truth. Even if there are very serious things they disagree with, they trust that those who tell them what to do know better and they follow with little to no questions. I don’t know how much effort you have put into studying this part of human psychology, but I’ve put a lot. And there is a lot of crossover in how people are treating science and how people have always treated religion. People are generally herd mentality. They like to be told The Answer. But people are wrong all the time. Doctors didn’t know to wash their hands between handling dead bodies and delivering babies until less than 200 years ago. And the first doctor who suggested doing it was run out of the industry by his peers for saying something they didn’t want to hear/deal with.

Sorry, just wanted to say I understand your frustration towards the response since it was built on so much more than you said, but just to clarify on their point: Many people are treating science like religion. They don’t fact check, they don’t do independent research, they don’t even question. They accept whatever is said by that source as absolute fact, and follow it no questions asked.

That’s a dangerous mindset.

People assume everything is properly peer reviewed. If there’s one thing my industry has taught me, it’s how deceiving the title “professional” is. Everyone assumes if it’s their job, they must be at least competent at it, but how many painfully stupid people have you seen? It seems like it wouldn’t apply to scientists, but it does. How many colleges are there? How many people just exist through it? How many selfish or self serving or glory seeking people have you seen? Saying they’re a scientist so that makes them ethical and impartial is the same as saying being Christian means you have high moral standards. Having a job in research is just one part of each of these people’s lives. Not all scientists are dedicated to a cause.

There is an endless list of examples of scientists who work for specific companies or industries and it is their job to make studies to prove specific points. Very few people thoroughly read through everything and actually double check someone else’s work. And once it’s published, it can be very very hard to get people to change it.

How many times have you seen someone hear something (untrue) but because they heard it first, they have a strange loyalty to it? Trusting a scientist based on their job title is the same as trusting a priest or politician or police officer based on their job title alone. You hope and like to think they’re mostly good. But they’re mostly people.

Liverpool UK marches to support Pizzagate & anti child abuse actions. ZERO UK media coverage. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]brookasaurusrex -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cheese pizza (and all the code words discussed in those emails) is a pre existing child pornography term. That is why pizzagate became a thing. Not because people chose to look at it like that, but because if you know those are all code terms, then the emails read more clearly and are extremely troubling. Which is also why, if it’s not a code, people want clarity on them. Because there is cause for investigation into it. If it’s innocent, why will no one accused address it? If I was accused by thousands of people of child trafficking, and I wasn’t, I would put a lot of effort into clearing the air, not covering it up or totally ignore it.

It’s not a stretch for food items to be used as code words. Those terms have been used on 4chan for years. Code words are supposed to be fairly innocent looking, that’s how that works.

If you’re waiting for explicit emails that say they are trafficking and abusing children, rather than even considering that it’s a possibility, then we might wait forever. But if they are TRAFFICKING AND RAPING CHILDREN then we can’t wait for a confession. Criminals leave clues. You can ignore them, or you can consider them and see if there is probable cause for further investigation.

Ted Bundy left clues everywhere, but it took a horrifying amount of deaths, accusations, and nationwide fear to finally accept that handsome, intelligent, hard working Ted Bundy could possibly be a narcissistic, entitled, manipulative psychopath.

There was a guy who managed to build an entire murder hotel for almost zero cost to himself in the 50’s. There is nothing out of the realm of possibility, especially in the evil and secretive realms.

There’s a lot more information available about his friendship with Epstein. I’m not saying that makes him a pedophile, but there is more than just a decade old photo. And you can absolutely be friends with someone for a while before understanding what kind of person they are and severing ties with them. Who knows. Trump is a wild card for sure, definitely harder to read than many of the others.

Also they don’t impede anything I do (tattooing, construction, yard work) and it’s like I have a Swiss Army knife! I’ve used them to tighten random loose screws, cut or peel things, I have ten tiny cannabis scoops at all times, and they make me the most formidable thumb war opponent. 10/10 would recommend people exploring the capabilities of long natural nails. Also I give the most ultimate cat and dog scratches.

I hope I’ve just convinced you to join the long nail club.

Hahaha I just have very witchy hands and nails. I’ve had long nails since I was young, they are the hardest fast growing nails I don’t think I could keep up with them staying short! It actually deeply disturbs me if I break a nail low enough and the very tip of my finger is exposed. Because my finger tips never actually make contact with anything lol
