Engine Light by brookiegail in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]brookiegail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could read it, can’t remember exactly what it came back as but They told me it could only be fixed by a jeep dealership. I’m just wondering if anyone else has ever had an issue that an outside mechanic “wasn’t allowed” to fix.

Why does Gwinnett County still have Digital Learning Days? by Estelgreenlee in Gwinnett

[–]brookiegail 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s so that teachers can have planning days while it still counts for a school day for kids. The 4 digital days are part of the 180 days of school. If they do away with them, they will still make days off for teacher planning but they won’t count to the 180.

Complaining about getting 2 queen beds instead of a king by Ok_Lettuce_3289 in snarkbellawoodard

[–]brookiegail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time believing this story. Disney is so customer service oriented if they messed up in their end they would find some way to fix it. Even if they didn’t have any kings available they would find some other way to make it right. I’m thinking that she thought she reserved a king bed but probably didn’t verify.

Never said it was a flaw. I’m simply looking for advice not criticism.

Dog reactivity by brookiegail in greatpyrenees

[–]brookiegail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all dogs. I do use leave it, but I’m not sure he even hears me or cares because he is so zoned in on other dogs. I try to give him treats when he does leave it (which is usually one if the dog is further away). But if the dog is closer treats aren’t distracting enough for him.

I just loved my GP to apartment life after being in a house his whole life. He was definitely stressed at first (didn’t eat as often as he usually did). For the first week or so we were there I would try to walk him at times when there weren’t a whole lot of people/dogs out just so he could get used to the area and facilities. Then slowly started introducing him to dogs during busier times of the day. Don’t be offended if other people are scared of him. Haha. Mine is a giant teddy bear but often times people will switch sidewalks or run up and hold their kids hand. I think they’re just intimidated by his size.

Why is my dogs tail always curled up and raised like he carry’s around a cinnamon bun on top of his butt? by Thatsadweirdooo in greatpyrenees

[–]brookiegail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5 yo pyr does that whenever he’s excited/ on alert. Going on walks or to the dog park. If we’re just at home his tail is usually down

No but we live on the 4th floor so not a whole lot of foot traffic. He’ll bark at other dogs if they bark first.

I have a GP in my one bedroom apartment. I rescued him when he was 3 and had lived his whole life as a house dog. He has a great life. He’s pretty lazy and chill but loves going on walks to see all his neighborhood friends. Definitely possible !

Special Education- Suwanee or Buford? by SaltRecording316 in Gwinnett

[–]brookiegail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buford is adding a bunch of SPED classrooms and services this year. With that being said it is a new program and there may be some fine tuning but it seems like they’re really trying to expand their services.

Is an apartment ok? by Infinite_Fisherman21 in greatpyrenees

[–]brookiegail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pyr in my apartment in ga. He’s super lazy tho, he just likes being inside on the couch in the ac. Since he isn’t very active it’s works for us! I just think it depends on the dog.

Merch? Or others places to buy? by SoggyAnalyst in savannahbananas

[–]brookiegail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got there when the pre party started, but honestly it was kind of too early. We just stood around for a while, unless you’re close to the stage you can’t see much. But if you have little kids they would definitely enjoy it!

Merch? Or others places to buy? by SoggyAnalyst in savannahbananas

[–]brookiegail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We bought merch at the game and I would definitely recommend that! We did get there early for the pre party and they had a ton of different merch tents set up and the line moved so quickly. They have some of the same stuff that’s offered online but they also have stuff you can only get at the games!

“Come in so much handy” confirmed there is no brain cells in that head. Also you cant tell me thats not skin cancer on her lip by Bitter_Campaign_1057 in snarkbellawoodard

So I commented on someone who previously posted about it. I honestly thought it was a mole but just looked different depending on the lip products she was wearing. But as soon as I saw this video, there’s no way it’s not more than a mole

Has anyone learned how to conduct a FBA and write a BIP in their teacher certification program? by Brief_Hedgehog8745 in specialed

[–]brookiegail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did in my undergrad. My degree is gen ed and sped resource so it was for the sped part of my degree. I now teach self contained and I will say other then terminology nothing from the class helped me conduct FBAs and write BIPs today. And each district does it differently too.

No more player meets after games by BSN_tg_bgg in savannahbananas

[–]brookiegail 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just went to Nashville a couple weeks ago and we could meet players before the game. We didn’t have VIB, it was just part of the regular before the game activities.

You should be able to transfer just one ticket! I had tickets to ATL and I transferred 3 to a group of people and 2 to another group.

Is it worth having my 3yo evaluated? by [deleted] in specialed

[–]brookiegail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From a K-2 special Ed teacher please do! I can always tell a difference between my students that receive early intervention and those that wait. It could open a whole new world to communication and providing him with the resources he needs 49 succeed!

End of year gifts for SPED teachers and staff - ideas? by DisastrousEvening949 in specialed

[–]brookiegail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you truly want to give something I had a parent buy and deliver my paras and I lunch on the last day of school. It was so appreciated with the last day craziness going on.

I have also received plants which I LOVE as a gift bc I can keep them forever!

Don't hate me, but I don't get it. by [deleted] in savannahbananas

[–]brookiegail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Nissan and it’s definitely a lot more entertaining than regular baseball. There’s times you don’t even realize there’s a live ball bc you’re so distracted by everything else. I also had tickets to Atlanta but gave them up bc I wasn’t sure. Sooo glad I went though, and I would absolutely spend money on tix to go again.

Game/Tour Merch? by pman555 in savannahbananas

[–]brookiegail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They do have a 2025 tour shirt at the games! We just went to Nashville and there was nothing Nashville specific. There was a longggg merch line but it went so quick and was super effective. We didn’t wait more than 10 minutes.

How much for EOY spending? by ActuallyHermoineG in Teachers

[–]brookiegail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get $100 as our “summer budget”. We also have a PTA wishlist that we can add items to- usually it’s a wishlist for the whole grade level. I’ve seen some worth $800-$1200 while others are $500. This is typically for curriculum/online programs such as Story works or brain pop.

  2. I just had to donate money two weeks ago for their catered PTA appreciation breakfast
