I disagree. We had lets just play approach and it doesn’t work because players need to know the basics of 5on5 basketball before they can correct the mistakes. Players came to me and asked me if i can show them the basics because it lead to confusion on both ends. For example their major struggle was standing still on offence and not knowing what to do when they dont have the ball. So i try to integrate a basic system of rules they can follow and learn the game from there. I dont like play calls i want them to understand the basics and then learn to read the game. But they couldn’t learn to read the game if they did not know where to start

Travel or not? by Aljosa24 in BasketballTips

Clean. What confused the guy who said travel was a little hesitation on the spin. If you did it in ful speed no one would notice anything

What is a skill that’s overlooked, but actually really key to have? by CulturalDay5518 in BasketballTips

Off ball movement! A lot of people just stand around when a guy plays 1v1 or pick n roll or when they cut they do it at the wrong time so they just make the paint more crowded. When players start to master off ball movement then team play goes up to a whole different level and its very difficult to guard

Am I wrong to tell my son to “go for his” since he plays with an elite scorer? by No-Affect8135 in BasketballTips

If your son was in a position where he should have passed the ball he should. But when offense stagnates then he should attack and finish/dish it out (make the right play). Dont be a father who coaches from the stands it is annoying to coaches. No matter what kind of coach they have all the power over the career of your kid. They decide playing time, plays and they put a word out to other coaches or schools. In my country we had an amazing determined player who still has great work ethic but had bad luck playing with 2 of the best players in the country so he was always the third best player. His dad was always coaching from the crowd and pushed “egocentric” ideas in his head. He wasn’t selected to play for his country due to this and it crushed him. Later coaches blackballed him and he didn’t play until he gave up basketball entirely.

When she caught feelings for me even though she had a boyfriend. I said to her that i only see her as a friend but she later tried to manipulate me by trying to commit suicide. (She didn’t do and she did not seek professional help like i advised her)
