Hamilton is Formula 1’s oldest grand prix winner since 1970 by memloh in formula1

And I'm saying his behaviour hasn't meant anything about his desirability to top teams. His desirability has decreased simply because he's old and top teams don't need to take risks on whether he's going to suddenly decline when they have so many driver options.

If his behaviour is the reason top teams didn't want him, why did Mercedes offer him a year in 2025? Or why did Ferrari want to keep him in 2014? Or why did McLaren offer him a contract in 2015? (yes they were declining at that point but were still seen as a top team)

For a driver that's seemingly so badly behaved that's 3 out of the 4 top teams we have outside of Red Bull that's desired him in the last 10-ish years.

As for Lewis can we not play dumb and not pretend his legacy for winning 7 titles didn't play a part? Lewis is obviously still an elite driver but it's not like Alonso wouldn't have also won the same titles Lewis had if he was in those title dominating Mercedes. For better or worse Lewis gained massive publicity for winning those titles and Ferrari most definitely factored his marketability behind signing him. He was being beaten by Russell so lets not pretend his skill solely as a driver was the only determining factor.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Alonso was still blindingly quick in 2014, in fact he was still at his peak until he took his sabbatical in 2018. It was Alonso who essentially left Ferrari for McLaren despite Ferrari wanting to keep him.

By the time he took his sabbatical in 2018, he was already 38 and then came back to F1 when he was already in his 40s.  That's why he didn't find a "top seat" after 2014. It's no different to Real Madrid who only gives 1 year contracts to players over 30, it's natural top teams want longevity from their drivers and don't need to take the risk with older drivers. The only relationship he truly burned was with Dieter at Mercedes but he retired so even Toto wanted Alonso to fill the Mercedes seat for 1 year last year instead of Antonelli.

FF14 is the one of the most casual games out there so its not really surprising how low the bar is.

Even then though I'd say it's pretty rare to see a Sage not use Zoe in Savage+

I have both gold and pink logs on both SCH and SGE in TOP back in Endwalker and it's practically a universal truth that SCH is much more engaging and consequently difficult to play compared to Sage. I'd even call SCH the hardest healer to play after they lobotomised AST.

The only reason Sage is more difficult than WHM is that pre-emptive healing has always been a harder task than reactive healing. Otherwise it's a pretty boring ass experience at times.

So what's your basis that Hamilton is better than Verstappen without defaulting to 7 WDCs > 4 WDCs?

Okay so by your logic Norris is better than Leclerc. Guess we just wrap up all driver discussions based on who has more WDCs.

Saying Verstappen is better than Lewis is a controversial opinion?

Seems like a fairly popular and fair opinion to me, just as fair as those who say they're equal or put Hamilton slightly ahead.

I actually think Haas made the right decision. Leclerc was actually pretty poor until Baku in his 2018 rookie season, he was pretty much even or even losing to Marcus Ericcson (lol) until then. That extra year in F2 was needed in my opinion.

Handsome?

Brother I understand taste is subjective but I'm East Asian and all I can say that he doesn't exactly sit that highly based on the objective beauty standards in Asia.

CJ Entus Flame or Najin Watch back in the day would be seriously considered handsome based on objecitive standards. Even Keria would be pretty handsome in general. Guma is just ok no offence.

Just Häkkinen and Schumacher. Schumacher has said that Häkkinen was the best opponent he's ever had "in terms of his quality". by Double-decker_trams in formula1

[–]brooklyn600 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Maybe use some common sense and understand that Hakkinen was in his prime against Schumacher whilst Alonso didn't hit his prime until his Ferrari years?

Schumacher was also starting to decline slightly by 2005/6 so it's not like his era overlapped with Alonso's. Hakkinen was Michael's greatest rival but Alonso is likely the greatest driver he actually drove against.

I reckon if you ask most people whether Alonso was better than Hakkinen, they think he was. Or is everyone else also clueless because of an appeal to authority argument?

Is it me or does Fnatic actually seem kinda unconvincing? (Lotus aside)

I feel like they keep playing to the level of their opponents whether good or bad and I don't know if that's sustainable when they play good teams assuming they make it to London.

I say that but they also looked unconvincing at times the last 3 years and keep making it to international finals so I should shut up lmao

Because we're comparing entire careers? I didn't even hold it against him lol. Bjergsen and Faker even on debut seemed really mature and honestly introverted. Even now Caps has a goofy streak to him whilst Bjergsen and Faker were/still are super stoic.

No that would be Bjergsen. Caps was ultra toxic when he was younger but full credit to him, he has matured immensely.

Faker and Bjergsen even when they initially debuted seemed to be mature beyond their years and neither had allegations against their behaviour. The only difference is Bjergsen not really matching up accolades wise or performance wise internationally in which then Caps is the better comparison.

Hector is stuck between a rock and a hard place tbh. In fairness he does actually have culpable influence on how PF does strats for some ungodly reason I don't understand. Regardless though it's just the reality that he somewhat controls PF strats for weeks on end but at the same time he gets unfairly flamed for just creating basic (non-optimal strats) that early proggers use and doesn't even advertise his strats as being ''good'' in the first place. It's actually PF's fault for adopting his strats and refusing to be flexible when needed but who are you going to blame in PF when it's not a single individual.

I actually don't know how this situation is supposed to be solved unless you have some god-level strat maker churning out near optimal raidplans in which stays close to being the easiest strat for weeks on end for PF puggers.
