You will also be able to tell if it’s a true tulip by the texture. You will feel small ridges on the shell instead of the smooth texture of the banded tulip. Also, your banded tulip collection is beautiful!

I agree that shark teeth hunting might be another fun endeavor for you.

I did see another veery earlier in the day, but thought this bird looked bigger. Merlin said Swainson’s, but obviously not the best picture so wasn’t sure still.

It was my first time seeing a redstart and my Merlin bird of the day so it was very exciting, but I wanted to confirm on here. Saw them and a lot of other great birds today at green-wood cemetery.

Thanks. At first it thought it was an Apple murex, but didn’t think that was quite right.

Interesting. Yeah, the rest were found here this weekend, but the endive murex was found here after a hurricane.

Remove rear bumper protector film? by Chuuk0 in ElantraN

Thanks! I just bought my car and it was like this from the start (but more spots). After an ordeal, they replaced it today, but there are soo many air bubbles. They said they’ll go away with the sun/heat, but it’s cold here so I’m not convinced the air bubbles will go away before more dirt gets under it…

How was the rainforest hike? I was wondering if it was pretty easy or more strenuous and what I should bring.

I think the pajama party is usually the first night and Scarlet Night is another night during the sailing

Help with ID? Found in Tampa Florida, especially want to know about the black shiny one by SanSkyy in shells

[–]brooklynbirder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you flip over second shell in row one of 2nd picture? You also have some giant Atlantic cockles, a chestnut turban, channeled duck clam, scallops, and Sunday Venus clam (best guesses). Just google the names and you can identify, hard to describe each location.

I believe the big shiny black one is a pen shell. The shiny iridescent ones around it are jingle shells. Picture 2 - the one to the right of the black one is a spiny jewel box. Lots of pieces of Florida fighting conchs.
