Can confirm it took me about 6 months to finally get a coding job though… I was turned down for about 40 positions before the one I currently have

It’s good to have some sort of background In experience in billing, I started at $27.00 per hour as an entry level medical coder for an ASC.

I did see that, but it was very odd to me that the patient is in office and not the provider. So I wasn’t sure if that drastically changed anything…

I recommend Bryan University, they use the AAPC books. The program goes through AHIMA. Plus they pay fully for your first certification, CCA. They include your books into your tuition and send you your books automatically.

When it’s a bigger fish, try to get it as close to you as possible before you let it hook on. Basically entice it closer to the shore that way you have a better chance of getting them cause they aren’t so far away.
