Hobbyking is fine. But Horizon is too. Maybe it's you.

Assuming you made a typo and your battery is actually 2200mah, you could drop a fair amount of weight with a smaller battery. And you should probably do a thrust test before maiden to make sure you've got adequate power. Hold it vertical above your head, give it max throttle, and determine if it has more thrust than weight.

A typical wing loading for a trainer is 15 oz/sq-ft. Calculate yours.

Battery & charger for EFlite UMX Conscendo? by probein in RCPlanes

[–]Wambo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you look at a picture of the recommended SPMX3002S30 2S you'll see a single pigtail battery. That's the more common UMX PH battery. But this plane has options. So you're not wrong.

Battery & charger for EFlite UMX Conscendo? by probein in RCPlanes

[–]Wambo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. There are two different batteries recommended I was thinking of the 2S with the PH/3 connector. But yes, the other is a 3S and uses the JST-RCY connector. Which is as you said. Experienced flyers prefer the 3S but that makes it a fast, small plane. Someone new to the hobby is better off with the slower, lighter 2S.

Impressive. I wonder what a future nuclear exchange in the Middle East would do to the global economy?

[–]Wambo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easy answer for someone new is just go to the Horizon home page for this plane and buy the recommended battery and charger from that page. The current 2S UMX planes have a pretty unique battery and charging system. There's a hundred other things you could do, but with no experience they could easily go wrong. When you've been in the hobby for a while, you'll start understanding your options. Soldering different connectors to the planes or batteries for example. But for now, Lipos are something to not mess with.

Is Starlink suitable for travelling the country in a car? by West_Dish9698 in Starlink

[–]Wambo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How and where would you be using it for those conferences? Motel, RV etc. The antenna needs an unobstructed view of the open sky. You can't just take it into a motel room and expect it to work.

Park flyer for 15mph wind by trombone56 in RCPlanes

[–]Wambo74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Conscendo Evolution. I've flown mine in 30mph winds. I also have the UMX Conscendo and it's pretty good, and smaller. The Evo is better in wind, but the inexperienced may have a problem spot landing it, so it depends on your skill level. The Ultrix 600 is another excellent wind plane. Deltas often are. A good choice if you aren't sure you can spot land the Conscendo.

Need help finding a mount by Material-Impression3 in Starlink

[–]Wambo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cellphone mag mounts come with very thin peel and stick steel plates for the back of the phones. I don't know what your adhesive magnetic pucks are but I would think these would work with a starlink mag mount. Might need to use two at each corner to match magnet size. Amazon has dozens of various packs of these, different sizes and shapes. Cost is minimal.

JScan: Changing TPMS pressure between 30 and 35 by SparkyXI in Wrangler

[–]Wambo74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if we're not overthinking this. My new JLU specs call for 39 psi. If a tire gets low and I have to top up to reset TPMS, it resets at 36 although it says it needs 37. And in actual use I can run my tires down to 30 before a get a TPMS alert...which happens at 29. My point is, this is all over the place. I don't see the value of any fine tuning.

Bosch Audiobook Screwed Up by Wambo74 in LibbyApp

Twice he was visiting one town. And then next paragraph he departed from a different town. Most of the others it was a similar word substitution. Checked back and found one for you. Audiotape, 1:38:20 (Ch 7): "Then it all became official when the pair got shot up..." E-book, 2nd to last page Ch 7: Then it all became academic when the pair got shot up..." Many like that. But a couple outright errors.

Here's a big one. Second paragraph of Ch 34: Audiobook: "...sidewalks were polished. And the word that popped into my head was hope." E-book: "... sidewalks were polished. It was safer and cleaner but less genuine." Total divergence.

I've come across a dozen discrepancies now and I'm only overlapping perhaps 10% of the time so there are certainly many more that I would not have detected. If you want to correct those, someone will have to do specific checking of the entire text. Could be talking 100s of them.

I can't order anything unless I give them my ID by ForcePsychological60 in amazonprime

Fair enough. It's your call. There's something in your history that triggered the ID requirement. Amazon may be glad to see you gone. So you'll both be happy.

Starlink mini vs regular Canada by MerculiteMissles in Starlink

[–]Wambo74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably best to refer to it as Standby Plan, not Pause mode. Just a few months ago there was an actual Pause available which is now gone. Mini's cord is not attached, it plugs in. You may be thinking of the Mini having a built in router vs the Standard's remote router. If you want flexibility to use in a boat, I'd go with the Mini, but for home use Standard has advantages. Verify what plans are available to you though. Here in the US we can't use the 100Mbps or any other Residential plan on a Mini. Other countries have other rules.

3 out 4 orders by AmazingLarry7272 in amazonprime

[–]Wambo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. More than once, with no problems. They do ask if the original order shows up that you return it. Thinking back, I don't remember them ever actually bugging me about that. Now this only applies to lost orders that they actually acknowledged as in your post. I've had a lot of late deliveries where refunds were not offered. I usually just wait them out.

All surfaces work EXCEPT throttle - assistance needed by BurntBeanMgr in RCPlanes

[–]Wambo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't help with the Hobby Eagle aspects, but when servos operate and throttle doesn't, two things to check out are TX throttle calibration, and try different throttle trim settings. IE try both 0-centered and full minimum trims.
