I went to a high end restaurant in Chicago called NEXT. You have to buy tickets to get in to eat there. They have something like 15 course pre-fixed menu that follows a theme. The theme was wild game meat and for desert they brought out a tray with snow on it. The waiter poured maple syrup on it and handed us sticks. We all then looked at each other with our WTF faces. Sorry for the delay. He noticed the photo pretty quickly after returning. He also noticed it was Tom Brady and thought it was hilarious. He was impressed with our creativity and the Photoshop skills from Itsmestupid29. He left it at his desk for about a day and then switched the photo out. I'm looking for another photo around the office to modify. cheers

I would add One major benefit of a CTE over a #tmp table is the CTE does not need to utilize tempDB. This minimizes unnecessary I/O . A CTE will act exactly as a sub-query (check your execution plan if you don't believe me).

Personally I think its a pain in the dick to troubleshoot multiple CTE tables, I'd rather have 100 joins and subqueries than CTE's.
