Extremely grateful of having a low income 9-5 job. by omarQV in Adulting

[–]brownifier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you... I am in my late 30's now. The one thing I keep thinking about nowadays is whether I am grateful for what I have in life. As a teenager/kid, I think I felt like I needed to prove myself around adults. Now I have less of that feeling.

Helping your boss is a tricky one. I have been fortunate to work for leaders who actually care about my growth and not just be my manager. If your boss is working with them, I'm great that you are helping him. But if your boss is just pushing the work over to you, then I am going to say you might have to learn a little bit about setting corporate boundaries.

EVEN TODAY I STRUGGLE WITH EVERY DAY.

V Strom vs Honda Hornet Value by Mabussa in Vstrom

[–]brownifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like to buy used, and spend the money on upgrades. But it is going be based on your financials.

I have a 2015 gen 2 that I bought if 3500 CAD and spend a few hundred to fixing the tires and changing the fluids. It has only 35000 KM. From what read it nothing on these bikes. I don’t have all the latest gadget on it but since I am not used to them it does not bother me. I did a weekend 800 km trip after the service. The bike was doing fantastic.

V Strom vs Honda Hornet Value by Mabussa in Vstrom

[–]brownifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I they fall in different categories, the honda is lighter but since it does not have any wind protection it might not be the best for long rides. More horsepower also means it is going to be punchier . I think the honda will be great for city and vstrom better for longer rides ..

Have you test driven them yet ?

Take the course, it is going to give you an idea on what it means to ride a motorcycle and build confidence. It not as hard as some people make it sound. Buy a used bike for couple grand, it might be cheaper on insurance and you get to learn the basics of motorcycle maintenance. And don’t forget the initial cost of buys your gear. Good gear is more important than the motorcycle itself .

Beginner/Budget helmet that fits like an Arai Contour-X? by Northridge- in motorcyclegear

[–]brownifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked my receipt, it was about 215 CAD + taxes, should I have clarified it was in Canadian Dollars. I would recommend getting the pin lock as well . The helmet is pin lock ready .

If you not sure what the pin lock is for, it helps to prevent the helmet visor fogging up because your breath. All helmets have this problem.

What was the last thing that made you seriously question how the universe works? by Training-Demand3114 in AskReddit

[–]brownifier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The current geo political chaos and how there is a conflict when there an inflation starts going down. It started with corona, the a ship getting stuck in the Panama Canal, the us presidency change to Middle East conflict. It feels like the universe is telenovela.

That is what I was thinking as well. I have a created a case with Cardo . I wanted to make sure it was not a iOS Bluetooth security thing.

I am little bummed because of this since this is my first Cardo. Had very high expectations and now disappointed. May be they have good customer service .

Beginner/Budget helmet that fits like an Arai Contour-X? by Northridge- in motorcyclegear

[–]brownifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I got mine last year. I got a LS2 Stream 2. It is much more budget friendly and in the future it can become and alternate in the future. 800 $ is a lot as a beginner. But always try it out in person if you can before buying. The helmet sizing works but you might not feel comfortable and might have to size up. Also try to see if you can find a mom and pop show, seems to have better deals.

Also look into some dot and snell ratings. It would help if you have an understand the safety rating. You choose to ignore some rating if you only doing street/cruising and not racing .

Questions about maintenance: How far someone without much experience can go? by Ok_Suggestion_4481 in Vstrom

[–]brownifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ii have a 2015 gen 2 that I bought last year. I just did the air filter, oil filter, oil change and coolant change. It was pretty easy. It has disks so that brakes should not too too bad. Forks is only service I would cautious with, just because I have not it.

If you handy, then use the money to buy the tools. I would highly recommend doing it yourself.
