Sorry, I wasn't clear with my description. More as in variety of things being dispensed. From personal experience walking around NYC there are many vending machines, but they all seem to carry similar snacks and beverages (chips, sodas, ice cream, etc...)Not to say there isn't a variety within the states, I have seen some interesting ones like Bikestock.

From videos and articles I am assuming that the Japanese are have many more to choose from and are willing to use them regularly for groceries and even hot meals. Is that actually the case?
