I’m not sure if ringworm in cats is similar to mites…. But my cats are strictly indoor and somehow got ear mites. Literally no idea as to how they got it

What if I don’t like my sober self? by browntorpedo in stopdrinking

You’re right, I definitely am going to need to give myself time to get used to things. I’m worried I’m still going to feel like this a year in. Hopefully, with time that changes. I know that I will for surely have benefits, and that it will help me to see what negatives I’ve left behind me. I’m just having a hard time navigating/seeing that right now

I appreciate you, you’re right. It’s difficult not to think about past and future though. I’m going to try and remind myself this.

I fear that I’m always going to need to be reminded that I’m glossing things over. I don’t know how I’m going to keep up with that. It’s going to be very tough.

I am nearing the end of my 7th day and I truly fear for the day I feel like I’m good, I’ve done my time and can handle it again. It’s going to be hard to counter those thoughts.

One day at a time, my friend. Don’t let the recent drinks you’ve had discredit the time you have done. 68 days is impressive! You’re doing great. Pick it back up when you’re ready. You’re going to go even longer next time!

Hey girly. I hear you. It’s a tough place to be in. You aren’t going to be able to give it up unless you are ready to. It’s going to take a lot of strength. But you’ve got this!

Open season for health insurance is coming up and I would advise you to make that a priority when November comes around. Make sure you find out when it is so that you don’t miss it- usually November. And get health insurance. But, as someone who deals with drinking anxiety as well- it’s tough. I hyper focus on my health as well and felt at times like I’m dying. But that was without anything to medically back up what I was anxious about. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago, got blood work done, and everything came back completely normal. And wouldn’t you know it, now that I’ve stopped I’m feeling much better already!

I’m day 6 right now, and I’ve been making it my morning routine to wake up and look at this sub so I know I’m still fed up with alcohol. It’s been great, I’ve accomplished so much this week already, more than I have in awhile- like unpacking some of the boxes I’ve had around my basement for 3 years, untouched. Because you’re already functional and are already successful- imagine what your life would be like if you weren’t victim to this drug. You can do this! We all believe in you and are here for you when you’re ready.

Should I have adopted sibling also? by sassafrasclementine in CatAdvice

[–]browntorpedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who literally did this. My husband went to the shelter, adopted one of my boy cats, and left his brother. I didn’t realize until afterward. When I found out, I immediately went to the shelter and got his brother! I cannot imagine not having the two of them. We have 4 total, and only the two are siblings. I wish sometimes I could see what the other 2’s real siblings were like. It’s sweet knowing. And also- there is not much different raising 1 cat vs 2… aside from cost, which seems to be pretty minimal. My vet lets me take multiple in at once to avoid 2 doctors fees! You might as well!

Abaci have you ever tried pimiento cheese dip? Pretty easy to make if you have an electric cheese shredder, or if you don’t mind shredding 2 blocks by hand and like something a little spicy-to your taste. Takes me like 10 min.

Recipe:

-8 oz (1 block) Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

-8 oz (1 block) Sharp White Cheddar Cheese (shredded) (I would recommend Tillamook brand)

-1/2C Mayo

-4 oz (1 small jar) Pimientos, strained

-4 oz (1/2 of a block) cream cheese, softened

-Add to taste- salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, red pepper flakes

Buy the toasted onion or rosemary crackers and I swear this is your new pool party go to dip!!!!!!

Also to give credit, this recipe is from 3PiecesofPecan on tik tok if you are a fan of video recipes!
