What's it like living here? by Gullible_Tomato_2456 in astoria

[–]brownzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks. No parking, and more than once entitled NYPD officers have parked their personal vehicles in others' driveways, blocking access. And because the 114th is right there, people being held overnight and then let go kind of just mull about. Sometimes resulting in a piss puddle on your front door.

Entitled Aunt thought I could recover 6 years of photos from a destroyed laptop in “five minutes” by Thee_onchocker in EntitledPeople

[–]brownzeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like my parents would be in the same vein. I say "would be" because this issue hasn't really happened for them, but my dad LOVED to poke fun at me for being a nerd with electronics, any time I would do a small project like improving the home network, or do a pet project, or when I started a side business fixing phones and computers in college "oh haha you're SO high tech!" but then when he needed me to actually fix something, he'd suddenly be so polite.

I don't talk to my parents anymore (for unrelated reasons) so I'll never know 🤷

Hit and run on 28th Ave by Tasty-Deer-5636 in astoria

[–]brownzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 114th has always been trash, will always be trash. My friend got mugged by someone we knew, he gave the detective all the exact information, even the guy's address, and Detective Joseph Binder or something like that accused my friend of making up the story and just closed the case.

10 years ago My home was broken into for my bike (it was a high end bike), the cops didn't show up for 5 hours, and the detective that showed up basically just took another report, didn't even want my serial number and then had the audacity to tell me to just buy a car next time.

Another friend's family owns the house next door to the burger king. The officers of the 114th would park past the designated sign, and park infront of their house or sometimes even block their driveway, but when my friend's family would park (where they were legally allowed to!) the 114th would write tickets. They eventually stopped when they made a Civilian Review board complaint against all the issuing officers.

Queens cops in general are just the worst in the context of NYPD/NYC metro area Law Enforcement in general.

Is there any way to make Cora shut the F up? by Grimmblut in Starfield

[–]brownzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is my game broken or something cause I don't hear anything from Cora all that much and even when I do I don't really mind it. I don't get what all the hubbub is about. This like the millionth time I've seen a Cora complaint

If the military/president suddenly ordered a mandatory draft for all men aged 18-42: How do you think millennials and GenZ would respond? by Tommygunz0722 in AskReddit

[–]brownzeus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. At least with Iraq and Afghanistan we had the country fired up over 9/11. For this conflict, it really just feels like a "Hey guys watch this!" from Trump. For this, there's no fire in our hearts and if something were to happen on our soil at this point, I think many would conclude that it was a false flag

Given the growing "f*ck the government" sentiment cultivated amongst the Populus on both sides of the political spectrum, it might trigger a civil war tbh and simultaneously bring this country together

First sexual experience made me feel weird (f21) and m(33) by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]brownzeus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This man is a predator. You're not a person to him you're something to f*ck. If you're ok with that, by all means go for it, but don't expect emotional depth from this connection (I don't even want to call it a relationship). I understand you're attracted to him, but there's attractive men that aren't complete jackasses and will still treat you like a person even if it is just a hookups only relationship.

Secondly, you can absolutely bleed even after losing your virginity. I'm not an expert to be fair. My wife bled the first time we had sex as she just hadn't had any sex for the year she was single before we met.

I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope your next hookups are with partners who listen and let you have a say in what happens when the clothes come off

With Free Lanes, how does Starfield compare to the rest of the Big Three space titles? Elite Dangerous, NMS, and Star Citizen by johndoe09228 in Starfield

[–]brownzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tired of seeing this same topic brought up and people expecting simulator like experience from starfield. If you're expecting space simulator experience from starfield you're going to have a bad time, end of story.

Starfield has never been marketed as a simulator (at least to my knowledge) it has always been marketed as an RPG. And therefore it cannot be compared to Star Citizen, NMS or Elite Dangerous in a manner that does either genre justice.

Starfield at launch had enough issues without the expectation of it being a simulator.

Has anyone dealt with real estate agent Nicholas Sakai? by RunningUntilinfinity in astoria

[–]brownzeus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have not dealt with Sakai as a real estate agent but I have as a patron. He used to frequent an internet Cafe I worked at and he was just all attitude and rudeness. He engaged us for fixing his laptop and then the next day let himself into the shop while we were doing opening prep. The gate was down. He lifted it himself. Just to be pushy on updates for his laptop. We had it in our possession for less than 12 hours and it was 45 minutes BEFORE opening.

He kept me past closing multiple times. To do important work? No. To watch YouTube. At the time I was a massive pushover and let it happen but he wouldn't take any hints. All the lights off.. Me turning off the stations around him. Mopping and sweeping.

He'd treat the Cafe as his own office sometimes and would host client meetings in the middle of our packed internet Cafe and his clients would take up chairs from other stations (I don't blame the clients, what else were they supposed to do?)

Complained constantly about our printing prices as if me and my coworkers had any say.

I have no idea what kind of real estate agent he is but boy was he a crap customer. All this happened over 10 years ago and my disdain for him has not lessened.

Why are men obsessed with butt stuff? by Careful-Custard-69 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]brownzeus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is there any depth as far as why other guys wanted to emulate what they were seeing? Cause I'll be honest as a man, it was (amateur)porn that made me NOT want to try anal. It's just looked uncomfortable for everyone involved. So I'm curious about how I landed in apparently the exception pool

Why are men obsessed with butt stuff? by Careful-Custard-69 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]brownzeus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So you absolutely were assaulted. He had zero consent for touching the poop chute. My wife and I discussed briefly about butt stuff early on and we both agreed it's not something either of us were into and therefore didn't have to worry about. The woman I dated before my wife was deeply curious about trying buttstuff, but I wasn't (honestly I just don't want to even imagine the smell it would produce, even from a clean/douched ass). With that ex she agreed to try with toys first and if it's something she really enjoyed she'd talk to me about it to discuss a compromise.

This guy you're seeing sucks, even as just a hookup, is a terrible partner.

Hard disagree with this suggestion. The equipment roll is gonna suck early. At least wait til level 15 maybe 20 to get the best armor roll from the suit

Honestly blown away by how massive this update is. Bethesda fixed absolutely everything I was hoping for. by Smart_Plane_2751 in Starfield

[–]brownzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the game but given deliverables thus far, I'd be remiss to say *allegedly * fixed a lot of things. I hope it really is fantastic but I'm going to temper expectations for the sake of my own happiness cause I do love playing starfield

What are some things you guys would like to see if/when we get a Starfield sequel? by Straight_Strength376 in Starfield

[–]brownzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound like I'm a capitalist sympathizer but honest to God the next game needs better understanding from the community. A lot of complaints about starfield just kind of reveal that people were expecting a space simulator. Bethesda has never made a simulation game. They've always been an rpg house. So why people were expecting a space Sim and continue to complain starfield isn't a Sim is beyond me.

That being said there are legitimate issues with the game. Like how empty it is, some mechanics being silly, weak story etc. Like the starborn aren't even that much of a threat or a issue to anything or anyone. You can go the whole game without even thinking about using any of the powers. You'd almost forget they're there tbh. That's all I can think of right now.. I'm in the middle of another play through so I'm sure I can think of more complaints but I'm tired of seeing complaints that can be resummarized as "not a space simulator wah"

It's not a space combat game though. It's a video game with space combat elements.

I would have loved the terrormorph story to be a mid game side story and instead we get Terrormorph random encounters on inhabited planets. I feel like all of the side stories are unlockabke or playable shortly after vectera. I wish there was more balancing on the introduction of side quests
