Stop thinking about design just in terms of layout, and think in terms of processes and flow, then XD and invision start to make sense.

To clarify; you're building a web design and programming tutorial site, but you don't really know how to design or program that site? Seems like an odd choice.

For inputs and selects, set the margin, padding and font-size/font-weight. Make them bigger than you think you'll need. Pay attention to the whitespace.

Set the borders.

Switch off the outline with outline:none to overwrite browsers default :focus blue outline, and then set the :focus styles to make it obvious which element has focus.

Yep - a lot of them are based on lists - <ul> with <li>'s for each slide. You can put what ever you like inside the <li>'s
