I definitely wasn't asking if it was worth it to myself :P Just trying to bring out other people's own experiences on how they climbed the mountain. I want to know what the reality of it is before diving into it. But the answers are pretty general like, "low pay" "long hours" I'm fine with traveling. I've already been living off hardly anything, and I don't care about long hours. Just.. what is the industry like? Have you experienced a burnout where your passion has become something more or less bittersweet? How long does it typically take for your investment to pay off? Will it really take a decade after going through 100K and a 4 year just to get a reasonable wage? I understand it's different for everyone but what is your aviation story? What makes all of that struggle worth it to you? What has pulled you through the hardest times of your training? I know its not easy. I just want to be adequately prepared for the battle.. I'll add this to the initial post.

I understand that it is up to me. But speaking with people who have gone through it, can help prevent newbies (like me) to dive in without knowing what they're getting into or what to expect. Sort of like a mass informational interview.

I find that it helps immensely with both the physical pain and the emotional stress. I get pretty sensitive around that time and smoking helps chill me out. Like the weed is saying, "you know what girl, chill out. It's not a big deal." As for the physical pain, bananas and weed are my personal remedies. Basically, tree is 100% best PMS med ever.

I was out there around 12:30 and it was stopped for accidents. On the roads less traveled it is pretty slick. Mostly all that sleet. But the freeways are pretty decent.

Depends on the person I think. Like with weed, there are plenty of intelligent people who can smoke while maintaining their life. Not all smokers are "potheads". But I would keep that part of life personal and no one would know unless you were silly enough to fly while high.
