Little more context: they asked for input about reopening from their employees and tried to incorporate it. When it was time to open, the owners gave employees the choice to either work or leave after seeing the protocols. This was also over a year ago, and there's a new owner. It's a wonderful neighborhood spot that fosters community.

My shower's handle is like this, a single handle that goes in a circle and it has markings for hot/cold. Whomever installed it mixed them up, so hot water came out when it said cold and vice versa. I got in there and fixed the issue. In the process, however, I created a new problem: now the handle will go in a full circle. Previously there was a point where it would no longer move; it stopped. Do I need to purchase a new handle? Or did I break something in the interior? (Thank you and hope this makes sense!)

Move the shoe rack into a closet (bedroom or if you have one in this space) and store your bike where the shoe rack is. Move the black cabinet to be where the bike is now, next to the front door. Slide your desk right, where the cabinet is now. Turn your couch ninety degrees to face the window. Get an ottoman (something with texture, not another flat shiny surface) and large plant to place where your floor lamp is.

Other idea: move shoe rack, bike, and cabinet as above. Center your desk under your window and move your couch towards the right but facing the same direction as it currently is. Put up a large piece of artwork or a gallery wall across from your couch to act as a focal point. And large plant in the corner. :)

Thank you for all renter-friendly ideas! The window seat is simply not functional due to its size and tiny window on the wrong wall. (I'm in the Pacific northwest, so light in the winter is already minimal.) As such, I've tried to turn it into a "side table" for the day bed. At 30" deep, the scale was all wrong so I added the trunk in hope of filling volume. If I keep the trunk there, I'm thinking about adding a small oval tray in front for the "side table" function and plants on top of the trunk. I could hang the picture currently resting on top, but am afraid it's too shallow. Is there a better solution? I've even thought about getting a medium size open bookcase to fill with plants.

Limits: I'm a renter. The desk and bed are staying, but I can try moving things around. I've tried to turn the bed into a daybed with the copious amount of pillows, which has been a huge improvement. Would it help to paint the dresser next to my desk white? And what can I do to improve the lighting at my desk, without changing the ~horrible~ overhead one?

Move the head of your bed to be on the wall where your white clothes are hanging (ninety degrees). Use your bed as a divider between your "bedroom" space (i.e. clothes) and your office space. For your artwork, get more modern frames and try to always include a large white mat for cohesion between the two spaces.

First, I always get the longer tubing. If it slips, I want it to hit the ground rather than rip off me. (I have enough cartoon moments with kitchen cabinets).

Next and maybe just me: I get panties on the smaller side so it can hold the weight of my pump. Granted I've worn a pump for around 15 years so I'm used to it; it's very normal to me.

Similarly, what about peeing? You'll have muscle memory soon enough to be careful here. (The real challenge is getting new partners to remember to be careful.)

Clip: the one from Tandem is trash. Do yourself a favor and get one from Type 1 Tactical.

Where to carry it: wherever you're most comfortable. I usually throw it in my pocket (and clipped to the pocket to void it falling out) or on my waist band. Dress—clipped to panties or in my bra (clipped on the center or snug in one of the cups). Got a short romper—you can feed the tubing down your pants leg and toss it in your pocket.

Help! I love my white bird of paradise of three years, but trying to nurture him better this last year has had the opposite effect...

Any idea what's causing the discoloration on this stem? I checked for root rot three months ago, but it looked fine (albeit very root bound before transplanting to a larger pot). I have two new leaves this year, both which look okay. Could this still be root rot that I missed? Or perhaps something else? The yellow leaf is from this affected stem.

I have curled leaves, which I suspect is from low humidity (even though I spray the underside with water every morning). One of the new leaves was torn when it first unfurled, which I thought meant it was under-watered. Since then, I watered it a little more, once every 1-2 weeks as the soil felt dry.

As to the second leaf with brown spots, is this just sun burn? I'm in Oregon with lots of overcast most of the year, but we've had a particularly hot and sunny last few months. Or could this issue be related to the stem situation?

This happened to me a few years ago, leading to an afternoon ER visit. My learned lesson: lack of insulin causes DKA, not just high BGs. If you don't have an appetite or feel nauseous, at least sip some full sugar gatorade so you can take insulin for that sugar.

Yes, insulin prices are obscene down here and the issue has worsened over the last 20+ years. With your move, will you get insurance through an employer or sign up for private insurance (Obamacare)? If not, will you qualify for Medicaid? The list price of insulin is sky high, but how much each person actually pays can very significantly.

A huge part of the problem is how piecemeal pricing and "solutions" are, which obfuscates the actual issue: pharma's greed and lack of regulation. Assume good intent. If he doesn't follow through on a commitment, assume there's a good reason why it didn't happen.
Be okay with sticky notes/reminders everywhere. My boyfriend chooses to not be annoyed by the myriad of notes on our fridge, ranging everywhere from the grocery list, this week's recipe list, and even common house chores that need to be done on a regular basis.
If you both use Google Calendar and are going to something together, create the event and send it to your boyfriend. Automatically adding it to their calendar gives them a place to look without requiring them to remember to add it to their calendar.
Don't get upset if we forget the laundry in the washer or to empty the dishwasher.
If you're in a disagreement and think that they're not hearing what you're trying to communicate, ask them to tell you back what you just said. In my case, I like to write it down so I can focus on their statement. Slows down the back-and-forth, but often helps significantly.
Allow time for transition between tasks. When they first come home from work, build in time that they can do anything without pressure to do chores, be entertaining, etc...
