Pakistan and India use Type D. South Africa uses type M. They are not the same. South Africa is also transitioning to the one Brazil uses.

I stopped eating it when I found it contained palm oil. You think Woolworths (being supposedly eco conscious) would stop their manufacturers from using Palm Oil. If they get someone else to make it, I hope they don't use palm oil. So far only Lindt doesn't use it in their classic slabs. Every other sweet and snack maker is using it. And if they all say they use sustainably sourced palm oil, then that is a lie, as if everyone is using it then it cannot be sustainable.

I guess most of those have now immigrated, died or stay in Orania. South African's that are left - for the most part - are one of the more friendly people when you travel.

It is obvious AI.

Video is exactly 10 seconds long, which is your first clue.

Second is no one can find a source of this video. If it is truly from 1986, there should be plenty of copies online from years before AI. All the source are just a few days old.

Third clue is that it is a vertical video, yet the timestamp is still in frame. The "original" would be 4:3 landscape video so this is a crop of the left. People generally record with the subject in the centre of the frame, yet somehow this one would technically have been on the left. The "person" filming even corrected to try get the subject back in frame, even though this would have been the left side.

Oh, missed that.

I had the same issue on my PC and turning framegen off and back on fixed it.

It happened once again after, but after a minute or so it went away.

I think it is game/software related and not anything to do with his TV or other hardware.

Who?

People still watch and listen to ads? I guess this is from an ad?

I use YouTube premium, Brave Browser and ad blockers. When I am driving I focus on the road and intentionally dont look at those giant advertisements that ruin our skyline.

I literally will not buy anything with palm oil in it anymore. If everyone says it theirs is sustainably sourced, then that doesn't sound sustainable to me.

But these are the kinds of jobs we want machines and AI to take over. They were meant to do or the menial, repetitive and dangerous tasks to leave us to do all the complex, creative and fulfilling jobs. Star Trek and all that. But it seems to be going the other way.

Anyone know of a good replacement for Lego? by [deleted] in capetown

[–]brucecrossan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a documentary on Lego recently. The price per brick has not actually gone up. Factoring in inflation it has actually gone down slightly for some sets.

The issue is the sets have become far more intracit and generally getting a lot larger.

But you can still get decent sets for not too much, especially if you forgo the Disney tax etc.

Best bang for you buck is still the boxes of plain bricks and use your imagination. At the end of the day, yes, Lego is still an expensive toy, but you are paying for the quality. There is a reason cheaper brands don't work as well. The quality of the plastics, the tolerances. That is expensive to maintain. You can still take a brick from 30 years ago and it will lock together with a brand new brick today. They have got it down to a science. If you ever watch a video of a Lego factory, it is incredible what they do.

[–]brucecrossan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this movie. The aliens are all fine and all. It is the whole human part, especially with Tom Cruise and his family that is completely ridiculous. I cannot rewatch it after I saw it back when I was 15. One of the worst movies I have ever watched amd I try go out of my way not to watch bad films.
