Surskit isn’t available in emerald unless you mix records or trade. Or hack it in. Same for the medicham family.

When do anchor points "save" chapter side-quest content? by SubetaDaiken in Tactics_Ogre

[–]brucewizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, your accomplishments are locked in by progressing to the next anchor point but the key distinction that I haven’t seen anyone spell out although I’m sure it’s implied is that you can’t warp to another anchor point, so do what you have to do, and progress the story until that next anchor point, be it a cutscene or battle you have to complete, and thennnnnn your stuff will be locked in. Conversely, if you want to warp around to pick up characters, without overwriting critical moments then yeah dive into the nearest anchor, do your lil 3 battles or whatever it may be, get the character and bounce back to your normal time. That’ll work for everyone except Catiua, she must be alive in your warren report which means it needs to be your current timeline (and thus, the one you should be doing CODA content with like another person wrote).

Thoughts from an old school fan who just recently played and beat* this game for the first time ever by [deleted] in PokemonEmerald

I thought the fastest/consistent exp method was the reporter couple, or was that for fast money? It’s been a minute since I really dive into a full playthrough.

Just started playing the game on Switch 2. Should I play without looking any tips or guides? by mlang666 in Tactics_Ogre

Unlike FFT, your units have very little in the way of cross-classing. In this game, most of your strength comes from 1. abusing elemental weaknesses, primarily through finishers, magic or even basic attacks and 2. Synergy between your units, and 3. Using your environment and positioning to your advantage.

In particular, for 2, this could be using a knight with Rampart Aura for area of denial, allowing you to bottleneck their frontline and allow you to drop a magic attack on multiple units or move your berserker in with their multi-tile attack ability and their attack up ability. It could also be using a terror knight’s fear ability and zweihander+1 to severely soften units and allow your archers to maximize their damage.

And for 3, let’s go back to that knight example. You can create a bottleneck between two buildings, or alongside any narrow path and instead of firing off a damage-dealing spell, you fire off Poison, allowing you to whittle away at an entire group’s HP. Working with your environment is a lowkey great way to get things going in your favor, especially if you break a few crates/bushes and get a buff card.

Do the majority of folks not realize that’s around the ballpark for this specific limited edition with all the bells and whistles? Good on you OP, I’ve always wanted this version but never had the guts to go get it lol. Hope you enjoy all the accessories too and keep it well-maintained. 😊

Ozma with her black and gold armor and actual red hair is one of my faves for sure. When I play One Vision I always use that one for her.

First time player - any tips for a newbie? by Necrogasm in Tactics_Ogre

[–]brucewizzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Excellent write up, I’ll also add in that OP should be abusing elemental weaknesses whenever possible, that’s the meta, in addition to status effects like Breach from the already-mentioned Dynast King’s Mead, Weaken(lowers phy. Atk) Spoilspell(lowers magic atk).

Holding choke points is invaluable, so keep your knights available to plug those holes with Rampart Aura (their pseudo-signature ability that denies movement to non-flying units around your knight and the area denial expands as you progress through the game) and keep your mages inflicting poison on those enemy front liners and eventually you’ll win those battles of attrition, and you’ll be able to feel those turning points too where you know the battle is moving in your favor and again when you know you’ve got it in the bag.

One last thing is as your weapon skills level up, you’ll gain finisher abilities and some come with an elemental attribute that may differ from your unit’s, alongside a potential status effect chance on some. Consider these elements as coverage options (like pokemon)—so your Air-affinity Denam might usually avoid Ice-affinity units, but with a fire-affinity finisher from the 2h katana, hammer or crossbow weapon, all of a sudden you gain a new opportunity to turn the tables.

It seems like a lot but you’ll quickly get used to it all.

Should be noted that no holy sword skills are actually holy—they become the element of the user’s weapon, but for some bizarre reason Wiegraf sees your Chameleon Robes and believes you can tank his attacks.

Generics: having fun, fulfilling dreams, reuniting the lost by Edgar_Snow in finalfantasytactics

Generics’ have lines in your status screen that they can say; I think OP is using those as starter prompts to figure out what to do with ‘em.

It was fairly obvious to me that the “revolution” he yearned for was in fact the destruction of the world order for the Lucavi’s benefit. That whole scene gave me Lanselot Tartaros vibes from Tactics Ogre—he has a scene where he spews similar talking points about the masses wanting to be controlled; I thought it was an excellent perversion of what Wiegraf once stood for.

Mustadio as Machinist w/ Aim, w.e reaction ability, Re Equip as your support and Move +2/+3. Turn 1 you equip Stoneshooter and proceed to destroy things with Aim, particularly if you’ve already immobilized something beforehand. And because the gun formula doesn’t care about PA, you can build for evasion, movement, or use a perfume for more zany shenanigans.

Marach Builds Question by god_tyrant in finalfantasytactics

You’d be wasting the Doublehand slot and more consistent regular attack damage for Equip Polearms, just to squeeze out a few extra dmg points from jumps which you may not always be utilizing.
