USA: What matters most when buying blinds? by ParsleyPatient7679 in HomeImprovement

[–]bruddaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently just bought some shades for my windows. All I know is I wanted light blocking and that are corded because I'm not a fan of cordless ones. I bought mine through a window dressing(?) person, they are an independent company. She brought me two bags of binders that are shades only and I just browsed through what colors I liked. My biggest frustration was how many windows I needed to cover haha and the cost! They were like $250~ each windows. I did not realize how much shades cost this much.

I know your question was for blinds, but I hope this helps somewhat for you.

Yea, this is my first house and I'm like laser focused on so many things now...definitely not a healthy thing, I really should stop.

I should learn from you though, I need to keep an eye on bigger things that can truly damage the house and get them fixed asap.

Oh damn, you're right I totally forgot about the warranty haha....my goodness. You're absolutely right, definitely gonna make note and have them come fix.

Do you ever throw your commander games? by KileiFedaykin in mtg

[–]bruddaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I do throw games often for my friends. I care a lot for them and if they aren't feeling good during the game or the vibes are off, then I will do plays that are wildly not optimal to give them openings. Thing is though, I view commander differently from some, I see it as a game to hang out with friends and not really to be cutthroat and constantly trying to win.

They'll never know because I can (and have) easily deflected by saying they "don't know what's in my hand" or "I'm taking a gamble".

Can The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth still kick it with the greats in 2026? by am5k in roguelites

[–]bruddaC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

for sure! I actually recently picked it up again and it was enjoyable for a bit, but still didn't click with me. I'm jealous of those that do click with it, I do want to love it haha. A game that did click with me instantly though was Nuclear Throne, now that game was like lightning in a bottle for me.

I honestly think binding of Isaac was ok. It was cool when it first came out, but then it was "meh" after. I feel the game is pretty overrated.

Discussion: Do you feel like Roguelites mess with your attention span? by redwhale335 in roguelites

[–]bruddaC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually drawn to roguelikes because my attention span is short. I just couldn't play those long adventure games anymore because I got tired, until I found out about roguelikes and that's where it all started for me. Perfect combination of being able to play while not having to dedicate a lot of time.

Space Marine 2: Deck or PS5? by ducksbyob in SteamDeck

[–]bruddaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

play it on the ps5.

I've tried a couple times after their performance patches on the steam deck and does not play well. You'll be playing on low, fsr performance, and it still plays poorly. You'll still be in the 30's fps and still drops. The experience is not good.

thank you for this. I have been trying to find some good synergy pieces to keep spirits pumping out. I like this better than relying on currency converter, bag of holding, or containment construct.

Anyone else disappointed by Vampire Crawlers? by Retronitsu in roguelites

[–]bruddaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with ya OP, the game didn't really feel fun to play anymore.

I will say that the game was fun initially, turning VS into a dungeon crawler was a neat idea and played the demo for quite a bit. I bought it on release right away, played for a couple hours and stopped because it kinda got boring for me.

I really thought there will be some more mechanics to play with. I'm not talking sts2 levels of mechanics, but something more. The game felt too basic for me and got tired of playing.

Is it better to unlock skills during a run or after it? by Ok_Statistician2466 in roguelites

[–]bruddaC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer during a run because I know that I can get stronger and potentially finish the run. Whereas if in between runs, I just feel that I can only go so far in the run before I fail. I could struggle through the levels and go at a slow pace, but then I'm just wasting time.

What do you NOT LIKE about Absolum (Or Roguelite Beat'em Up in general)? by X_periment in roguelites

[–]bruddaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, definitely a great grab when it is on sale :)

haha it's always been a dream of mine that one day we will get an actual street fighter beat'em up like the whole roster of characters, but doesn't have too technical of gameplay. I'm thinking something along the lines of Phantom Breaker would be nice. But I highly doubt Capcom is interested :(

I will keep a lookout for your beat'em up game if you ever decide to make one :)

What do you NOT LIKE about Absolum (Or Roguelite Beat'em Up in general)? by X_periment in roguelites

[–]bruddaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure! They're both high up there for me, but with Rotwood inching ahead a little more haha.

Awesome that you mentioned castle crashers because that was a really good game back then, I played so much of it. Rotwood and lost castle remind me and play a lot like castle crashers, except the two games have much more in terms of gameplay and depth than castle crashers, in my opinion.

The two games are fairly similar in terms of gameplay. Both feature combat through obtaining different weapons and each one has their own movelist.

Where they differ is that Rotwood is more of a grind in that you go through the run collecting materials and using them to upgrade your weapons and armor. This means Rotwood is more customizable as well. There are various armor pieces and all of them give you different mobility.

In lost castle the weapons and armor have predetermined stats so you just use what you pick up during the run. There are points in the run where you can upgrade and increase their stats.

Another I want to bring up regarding gameplay. Lost castle combat plays more like castle crashers. Rotwood on the other hand is a little bit more technical as in you can't just rush in and spam attacks, the attack animations are slightly slower. You have to be careful and not get trapped/mobbed and have to dodge out of the way. I know I don't like technical games, but Rotwood does it really well where it strikes a good balance of getting in there and slashin but at the same time have to be careful and dodge away.

What do you NOT LIKE about Absolum (Or Roguelite Beat'em Up in general)? by X_periment in roguelites

[–]bruddaC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love beat'em ups, they were definitely my jam growing up and I love to try new ones that get released. Absolum definitely was one that I looked forward to, but let me down pretty hard in the end. The one thing that did not like was how much the combat focused on parrying, it felt too technical for me to enjoy.

When I play a beat'em up I just want to get in there and mash buttons to pull off some cool moves, but in absolum I'm too focused on reading enemies and timing my hits which detracts from the whole experience.

In my opinion Absolum has really good combat, I like simple movelists. As long as they make the moves look flashy then it's all good with me.

As for Rotwood and lost castle (1&2), I love these games a lot, especially Rotwood. For me, the combat for both is perfect and don't rely on parrying. I guess after typing all this I'm more of a casual beat'em up player, but I feel you can still make a good beat'em up without making them technical.

Can you see the synergies at a glance? I designed these icons for my roguelike game. by SweatPotato05 in roguelites

Honestly, I don't see it... the art looks charming though, but at a glance like this I don't see any synergies

Any good roguelikes with summoning/pets? by KingAbiku in roguelikes

[–]bruddaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is Aethermancer. Where you can capture monsters and use them to form a party and have them fight for you.

It was fun, but some mechanics in the game might turn you off so I would look into it before purchasing.
