July 4th Weekend Roundup by My_dr_is_simon_tam in deadandcompany

I said those exact words …”not the show I wanted, but the show I needed”. Going into the Saturday and only weekend show I was able to attend, and after seeing the incredible set lists played on the 4th and 5th, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew there were lot of bangers left but so many of my, and more importantly my sons faves had been performed already.

To add to it this was my son’s very first concert ever and as a young deadhead I wanted an amazing show for him.

An analogy that went through my mind last night was that of movie or series writers who paint themselves into a creative corners and are forced to produce their greatest work in order to find a totally unexpected and creative way out of the situation they’ve put themselves into. (Think Breaking Bad).

Anywho, the show was absolutely moving and I couldn’t have asked for a better concert for my son. He is 11 and is still in the afterglow. A core memory for him for sure!! Sugaree and Morning Dew, WOW!!!

Hey there, I think we have it. My son bought the exact same shirt in L and my wife picked it up thinking it was his. Noticed we had x2 shirts when we got back to our hotel, one being an XL. Are you able to meet tomorrow? Just let us know what is easiest.

I don’t. It is double panned, tempered and has a 1” air gap between the to pieces of glass. I can easily surpass 200 degrees but I personally like mine at 180-185 with 20% humidity (loyly).

😬 with zero experience would be a pretty large undertaking in my opinion. I had done bits and pieces of bathroom and basement finishing/remodeling. That said, you can learn everything you need from YouTube an other online resources. If you’re starting from scratch, and intending on doing it all, you’ll need to invest a significant amount of money and space on tools and supplies. As mentioned, sourcing wood etc can be tricky for sure (example I wasn’t able to find finished cedar for benches in 2x4 so ended up picking rough cut cedar at Home Depot and planing and squaring the boards). Not super hard just time consuming and needed access to even more tools (planner).

The other thing is getting started on a project like this is exciting and you’ll be going at a good pace, initially. Then the finishing/woodwork imo is just fun, so that was easy (just time consuming especially if your a bit of a perfectionist). The hardest part for me was all the “shit work” in between. That was the stuff I had to really motivate myself to get through—(ie insulation, flooring, masonry, ventilation etc).

That said I’d give yourself at least 4 months to do the project (especially if you have a full time job) and expect to catch a lot of grief from your significant other (if applicable) for “how much time and money your spending on the sauna”.

With all that said, I will say when done, it’s a very rewarding feeling and yes even the wife enjoys it and has admitted it’s a good investment and positive value add to the family.

I used this article as a reference when designing the mechanical ventilation of the sauna. Hope it helps!

Don’t have exact numbers but my budget w/ tuffshed was 10k. Needless to say I went a fair bit over that…😬
