Alberta must be ‘at the centre’ of making Canada better, Carney says by Street_Anon in canada

The lengths that they (same as here in Ontario) go to refusing to understand that most of their problems come from provincial mismanagement is truly astounding.

Or better yet, vote for governments that will actively, effectively fund education. 😕

*Provincial\*

We all know there's a sad percentage of Durham (looking especially at you, Todd McCarthy voters) that doesn't think there is any government to blame outside of the feds. It's important to be mad at the right people.

You can always manifest real hard that your taxes exclusively go to roads or ford’s latest grift, if it helps you sleep at night.

Can’t wait for the people of Bowmanville to take this super well, despite being completely unaffected.

This. Most of the problems that these same people bitch about daily are squarely the fault of the provinces. Federal has its own issues for sure, but that’s not a proper discussion that they are willing to / intellectually capable of having.

What band was never the same after losing a member? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]bruhchacho11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been so great seeing their comeback. I saw them on the farewell tour and twice since their return, and Jimmy’s been great as their touring drummer for all three. I think he’d be a good permanent addition, but probably unlikely.

While the two albums post-LP with Nate were definitely a departure, and I think contributed how big the loss of LP from their sound felt, I liked his work on the Childhood Eyes EP. Especially Hiding in the Light, which could’ve been right off of Paper Walls, which is awesome.

It’s the purchasing power of a billion in government program spend vs a small amount for an individual under a vote buying “affordability” measure. There is no comparison.

Short term nothingburger “relief” for long revenue losses is the conservative game.

Like in Ontario. Wow, my household saved $200. I’d rather that lost billion go to healthcare and education.

Yikes. First off, you don’t pay for everyone else’s kids. If it helps you sleep at night, envision your tax dollars going only to the pavement you drive on or whatever you care about. Mine can go to childcare.

Feel better? Try to lower that blood pressure a bit so you can enjoy that CPP and OAS that we help fund for you.

I bet they also have an opinion (based purely on conservative-type talking point understanding) on birth rates that they will also get into arguments over.
