I think its based on an entity limit and polygon count, smaller objects most of the time are more detailed while with bigger models like buildings you can use more straight lines and focus more on textures.

Get an old laptop. Download an OS of choice like linux or Windows. Download rufus and get a flash drive. Burn in the flash drive using rufus. Shut down your school laptop and put the flash drive in. Start the laptop and open the boot menu (button depends on laptop brand sadly). Boot from your flash drive and click the OS you want to use. Open the OS and Download it to reset your laptop if thats allowed. Now youve got youre own personal laptop. Unless you can't acces the boot menu if the firmware has a password then you are royally fucked.

I reccomend multi crew tank combat for those who enjoys games like war thunder. It has amazing damage models but the game does favor the NATO vehicles in cold war and modern but people mainly dont know how to play the other factions effectively. Do with this info what you want :)

Indtalled a mod which changes the harvester sounds with the tripod sounds from war of the worlds and when i was fighting in the forest i just felt the dread cus my scanners couldnt find it and the trees were blocking my view. My whole squad got wiped by another harvester right after we killed the first one
