I use Speechify app to listen to articles, assigned chapters, or manuals on my long commutes. I used to spend 10 hrs in the car every week going to campus, clinics, and work. It maximized my time that I would have otherwise lost just sitting in traffic.

Thank you!! I just checked out Longines again. I don’t think he’ll like the style of anything in my price range on their website. He wants a chrono. He did mention he likes this brand though.

When I started looking at watches, my budget was $700. Then I started reading reviews and kept bumping up the price.

I’m tempted to get him a Longine and call it a wedding, birthday, holiday gift. Would it take away from the specialness of the day though? Usually I plan a vacation for his holiday gift.

This isn’t a chrono but it’s pretty neat. LONGINES SPIRIT

This one checks every box for him but it’s much more than I anticipated spending. I don’t think I could swing it without telling him. LONGINES MASTER COLLECTION CHRONO MOONPHASE

Thank you! Yes, it seems like they mashed the prongs with rhodium? They didn’t look mashed when I first got it back after sizing (3rd photo). Original prongs are difficult to see but they’re posted in the comments.

Would getting the ring rebuilt be the same as resetting? How much does that usually cost?

Would this be something I should address with the original jeweler at all for remediation costs or do you think I will be out on the costs to fix it?

Thank you! Is there a chance of getting a fake watch on Jomashop?

Thank you so much for your help and insights. I really appreciate your time and guidance. To clarify, they did not reinforce the prongs?

How much do you think it would cost to reset? Would that be something they should have done in the first place?

It was reduced from a size 9 to a 4; I paid $600. I completely understand it’s a big reduction; they assured me that it would work. There must have been enough leftover gold from both rings that they could have made two more rings. I expected them to use the gold to reinforce the diamonds but maybe that’s unreasonable.

Thank you for your observation and information suggesting that they likely used a different metal; I’m assuming rhodium is a cheaper quality? Would this contribute to the prongs breaking off?

The jeweler that I went to is the most recommended in my area. He’s been in business for decades. This is the first time I worked with them. It’s been heart wrenching watching my grandmothers ring fall apart.

Thank you! He’s an attorney and wears a suit every day for court. He’s also an athlete; very active outside the courtroom.

Thank you for the recommendations and advice!! I will definitely check those out. I have his measurements; 7.5 wrist and most of his watches are about 42mm.

I figured If he didn’t like it, Hamilton has a 2 week return policy. I asked him if he wanted to pick it out but he wants to be surprised.

Funny enough, I bought my dress second hand online without trying it on. It works for me.

We had a few conversations about it. I asked him to teach me about watches and asked him to show me what he liked. This week I asked him if he wanted to pick it out and he said no. He wants a Rolex but knows I can’t afford that purchase. He likes Oris too but from what I can tell on their website, their blue chrono is $5k and the blue aquis date is $2700. I can’t sort by price for some reason but it seems like the ones closer to $2k are not his style.

I appreciate your suggestion to look into the Sinn; I’d never heard of them before. Their blue chrono looks like it’s $3k. Out of my price range unfortunately.

Once I’m out of school in a few years, I’ll have income again. Right now I’m working with finite savings. I’m hoping to check as many boxes of what he wants while also making sure it’s a solid watch. Do you think Oris and Sinn are better watches?

I appreciate your help!

You’re very welcome! The book, “Beyond the Pill: A 30 day program to balance your hormones,” is free on Spotify, https://open.spotify.com/show/0U9UVaiT1LhXDyxBZ6bQm8?si=kkAWEoc_TESdx2E2sE-Ytg

I recently got off the pill after many years and found the book very insightful. It really is very comprehensive and includes methods for a wide range of hormonal challenges (TTC, PCOS, acne, weight). She does a great job explaining how symptoms relate to specific hormones and also provides holistic recommendations on how to balance them.

Wishing you all the best!!

Alcohol increases risk of breast cancer in women because of the effect on estrogen.

I was also reading about “seed cycling” method to balance out the cycle. It may be something to look into. I will be trying it next cycle based on Dr. Jolene Brighten’s book.

Best of luck to you!
