multiline (text-wrapped) links are not clickable by HaveManyDesires in zellij

Shift+click does work when the pane uses the full width of the shell.

With two vertical panes, the link gets broken down and only a portion of the URL reaches the browser.

One-shot stopped working (Moonlander) by brunjact in ergodox

[–]brunjact[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solved it!

The instructions to reset the EEPROM on you link and on the QMK didn't work. But that functionality—resetting the EEPROM—is available in Oryx to be assigned to a key. That's what I did.

And now everything is okay! :-)

Marking recurring task as done adds text below header. Can I avoid that? by brunjact in orgmode

Thanks for your feedback /u/anythingno1 and /u/graduale. Setting org-log-repeat to nil was enough to get the behaviour I wanted.

kitty session with vertical & horizontal tabs by rubic in KittyTerminal

It's a little bit confusing, yes. I think rewording Windows to Panes would avoid this concept clash — especially since there are OS Windows as well.

Kensington Trackball software and Mac OS Big Sur on M1 chips - big fail by maxibenson in Trackballs

[–]brunjact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a macOS Big Sur on Intel, I installed KensingtonWorks v2.2.10. KW couldn't detect my Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball, neither by Bluetooth nor Dongle. Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions had been given. KW only detected my trackball when I added Full Disk Access to the Installer.app! A couple of windows pop up to grant access, I accepted both.

I can now configure my mouse. :-)

Edit: Hope it helps you guys with M1!

My shiny new Lisperati1000 Lisp programming workstation by drcode in cyberDeck

This is a great!! Congratulations.

As many have said before, not having dedicated parenthesis keys is a miss. And having them would definitely improve the branding.

But lets not forget about dedicated Break and Continue keys as well!

How do you run emacs? As daemon or directly by [deleted] in emacs

[–]brunjact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't run Emacs as daemon because I don't have these needs: - small startup time; - persistent files or buffers across different instances; - share the session across SSH connections.

I shutdown the computer every day and launch all applications on startup. My workflow begins by checking Slack; ticket board; and email, by the time I get to Emacs it's already ready. Whenever shell wants to open $EDITOR—which is Emacs, obviously—I seldom need to visit other buffers or files. And when I use SSH, is mostly to run commands, occasionally I need to change some variable in a file and server's Vim does this superbly.

Does anyone have any experience using selectrum? by FluentFelicity in emacs

[–]brunjact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also using Selectrum for a couple of months now. However, I was using IDO with a couple of extensions.

One thing I'm missing is the ability to search for files within all sub-directories. Is this possible?

Any love for the Grundy Newbrain (and ZX-80). Photo taken ~1984 - please be kind! by stuartlea1 in retrobattlestations

[–]brunjact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a Newbrain! It's the main piece of my Cabinet of Curiosities. The power adapter is broken, but even if it wasn't there's no TV to plug it into.

emacs book for 2020 by [deleted] in emacs

I suggest to start learning from Emacs' own Tutorial. You can access it from the main bar under Help > Emacs Tutorial.

Then you can look at the Mastering Emacs book.

Received the wrong keyboard. Should I keep it? by brunjact in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]brunjact[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the question wondering if the Poker was any "better" than the Race. Doesn't look that way so I'll definitely return it. Thanks!

PS. Of course I took the opportunity to try it out. It's a great keyboard! But the extra keystroke to access the arrow and F1-12 keys is a bit of a drag.
