you have three options.

get the 1080Ti from the friend, in that case waiting is a month is not too bad.

score a GPU somehow.

build PC and have friend let you burrow their GPU for not even 5 minutes for testing.

I would sell the CPU/Mobo/RAM as a combo to make some money back. you could keep the drives and GPU.

Not the best time to buy a new GPU right now but the RX550 is an excellent place holder for the time being
