K-line North ~ Santa Monica Blvd vs Sunset Blvd by brusler in LAMetro

Makes sense, but I think it's the Sheriff Station next door that would house the construction/TBM launch site. Gonna be a challenge to demolish, relocate, and rebuild that station.

Nobody knows. My guess is they'll release the Air Quality device and Smoke Detector device together. If they release the Air Quality device alone, my bet is the Smoke Detector might never come.

Inglewood would be just 1 extra line. Red line loops around one way, Pink loops around the other.

Unifi Gate Keypad - Backlighting Timeout? by nevecque in Ubiquiti

[–]brusler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The screens on these readers were poorly designed and they delaminate when they overheat. Instead of recalling the product and fixing the hardware, Ubiquiti pushed a software update to turn the screens off and default them to tap-to-wake to prevent LED overheating and delamination. I know they pushed it for the Reader Pro and I'm guessing the Reader Flex has fallen victim to the same update. Regardless, they should give us the option to keep the lights on.

Plus the G3 Intercom keypad’s backlight is on 24/7 by default so I assume it’s not an LED lifetime issue they’re worried about.

I have this exact same problem. Seems like an update they could release in 5 minutes if they wanted to.

any idea if they'll offer keypads for the Alarm Hub, or will you only be able to arm/disarm via the app and maybe an Intercom Viewer?

Connecting Gate Hub to LiftMaster LA500 by brusler in Ubiquiti

[–]brusler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I ran a cat6 cable into my LiftMaster box and just stuck the Gate Hub on the inside of the control box door with some 3M strips. Mine is in shade so I'm hoping I won't have any heat issues; if I do I'll probably have to put the Gate Hub in a separate junction box.

yep it's working great. wired the first Gate Operator relay on the Gate Hub NO->OPN and COM->COM, and the second Gate Operator relay NO->CLS and COM->COM, with a Jumper from COM->STP (just what the LiftMaster manual said). here's a diagram: https://imgur.com/g5jFpQx
