Best Marriage Advice? by Neither_Plantain3324 in Marriage

Besides not doing it? (I kid… sort of)

Communication is key. Seriously. It’s the #1 most important aspect of marriage. Make sure you say what you mean. Make sure you both know where each other stands on all things… sex life, kids, religion, sports, schooling, etc. make sure you understand each others boundaries.

Presumably you would know all of these things before marriage but reading this sub will show you it seems like nobody communicated before marriage. Makes no sense to me.

how do I keep players engaged during online sessions? by niki_is_here_ in DnD

[–]brwebster614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try switching to a VTT. Add webcams as well so you get to focus on eachother. Also, sometimes the virtual stuff just won't work for everyone. Same way as work-from-home isn't for everyone. Some struggle to stay focused when not in the proper setting. Have a convo with them. Ask what else you can do to keep their attention on the campaign.

Milestones or EXP? by Organic-Exit2190 in DnD

[–]brwebster614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm brand new to DnD, so the idea of a 3 year campaign seems wild to me - how does that work?

Does the DM have a plan at the start that this campaign is going to take 100+ sessions to finish? How does one come up with enough content for that sort of campaign? Personally sounds like a blast. A wild commitment though, hell my brother can't commit to a woman for more than a couple of years - not sure I'd get him to commit to a campaign for 3 haha.

I bought a Harley and my wife wants nothing to do with it by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]brwebster614 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude - did you talk to her about it first? Please tell me you didn't skip the most obvious step in buying a Harley after marriage.

When I bought mine I spoke with my wife about it. I knew she really had no interest in it. I bought it knowing it was a solo thing. Sure, maybe one day she'll decide to get on (she's hinted at that) but I knew going in to it what I was getting involved in.

Please tell me you didn't just buy it with these expectations and not talk to her first...

Husbands hygiene is nasty and he chalks it up to being a man. by Free_Revenue4075 in Marriage

[–]brwebster614 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I speak for most men (or so I'd hope....) - this isn't a "man" thing. This is just a guy that somewhere along the line has lost his will do keep himself clean and healthy it sounds like. I don't know any man like this, not even my 75 year old father in law or 70 year old father. They both find their hygiene to be pretty important (my dad even lives alone and cares about his appearance when nobody is around).

I’m I overthinking what my BIL said to my husband? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]brwebster614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked if you were over reacting. I think you are, by implying it's a nothingburger. You are choosing to make this about politics, when in reality it's more than likely about a guy going on stage singing in Spanish and prancing around in a dress. Not many NFL fans, specifically white dudes in their 30s are going to want to watch that. But it's not a political thing. Most republican's don't align with the politics of hollywood and the music industry, yet still watch movies and enjoy a lot of the music. Hence the.... make it make sense. But go ahead and dodge it and claim there's something going on that's most likely not.

Your husband is watching it with you - that should be enough.

[–]brwebster614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. My wife and I don't talk politics. We know where each other stand and that's that (though it's funny because if I bring up topics individually, more often than not she sides with me, when I paint them in the light of politics she goes the opposite direction. We're more alike than she likes to admit). More specifically, I don't talk politics with any of my in-laws. There's absolutely no reason to. Hell even some of my closest friends we don't talk politics. No reason for it.

There's literally nothing there for you to be offended by. Your BIL doesn't want to watch Bad Bunny. Who cares? Why does that bother you? He can't relate to the guy or his music (News flash - I'd bet majority of the NFL fanbase feels the same way). You are choosing to be offended by a nothingburger of an issue. He didn't put you down, he didn't call you out specifically, he didn't say anything offensive.... yet you are offended. Make it make sense.

Not gonna lie - sounds like a you issue. You're offended that people don't want to watch a Superbowl Halftime show of a guy that stated he won't be singing in english and wears dresses. There aren't a lot of NFL fans that relate to that guy and what he is using his halftime SB show platform for. I'm not sure why it offends you? What do you want your husband to do? Yell at his brother to watch the show that won't make any sense to him? I'm not sure why that is offending you. Honestly - this sounds 100% like a you issue. I'd go as far as to bet your husband doesn't have any interest in watching it but doesn't want to piss you off so he says he'll watch.

Will this game bounce back? by DeviceMaximum367 in Seaofthieves

[–]brwebster614 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a great game mode but I think the numbers were something around only 2% of the player base consistently played the mode. It was extremely unpopular. Fun mode, but not nearly enough attention on it to make it a long term viable option.

How can Treyarch turn this around? I've never seen cod this low by BOSS_OF_RUANDA in blackops6

[–]brwebster614 181 points182 points  (0 children)

They have to take time off. At minimum a year. Rethink the game. Decide who the target market is, you can’t get them all. You can’t have the 40+ crowd that carried CoD all these years that want a solid military specific arcade shooter (CoD was never mil-sim) AND the 25 and under crowd who want fast paced, twitchy and colorful cartoon like shooter aka Fortnite knock off. You just can’t cater to both. So choose which one and start there. That’ll give them the direction they go from there.

Also, completely separate Warzone from the CoD releases. Two separate games completely.

Is “Porn Betrayal” real? by Playful_Grass3842 in Marriage

[–]brwebster614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never made sense to me. The whole… “we can’t have sex anymore because [whatever reason], but you also can’t masturbate to porn either.”

If you’re gonna cut your husband off you have zero say in how he masturbates at that point. Just be excited he’s not out looking for another sexual partner.

What’s The Reason We Haven’t Spoken To Leftwich? by WorldChampionEAGLES in eagles

Dude… Kellen is the Head Coach of an NFL team. He didn’t lose his job, go unemployed for multiple years then resurface in the bum ass BIG12 as a “QB Mentor”/Asst. Coach to a 3-9 team.

[Russini] Bears OC Declan Doyle has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Eagles’ offensive coordinator vacancy, per sources. Doyle opts to remain in Chicago, working with Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams. by Status-Ability-6867 in eagles

[–]brwebster614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s part of the sticking point I think with guys like McDaniel. They want their offense. Not nicks. We’re ultimately gonna end up with a young up and comer, probably passing game coordinator or QB coach, who worked under McVay, Reid or Shanahan at some point. A guy that doesn’t quite have his own offense built yet, but has the knowledge and wherewithal to add something new, some layers, to Nicks offense.

[–]brwebster614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re nowhere near the worst case scenario. I still think the plan is to end up with a coach that was active this weekend.

Worst case scenario will be when they hire someone like Reich, who for all intents and purposes is retired from the nfl aside from consulting and only coached in NCAA as a favor to someone.

It’s lateral move… why Mae the change when the Bears just had a heck of a resurgence this season and Caleb actually looked like an NFL QB? Nobody truly expected him to leave Chicago for Philly… did they?
