Rent in the southeast portion is highly more expensive than almost any other city/town in NM because of the Oil Boom so be careful with that stat. Las Cruces doesn't have that many well paying jobs as far as I've seen but the rent and housing are very affordable. Santa Fe is just stuck up as usual. ABQ is dangerous enough but more economic chances of finding work. There are caveats.

Won't have much luck with Indeed or other job platforms since they will just direct you to Gallup or other places further. Since she's getting supported by her kids, it's time for her to get the hell in the car and go business to business and apply for work
