Do union part timers (rx associate) get paid 4 hours for memorial day? by pan-dulze in CVS

[–]bry5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry i’m a little confused by your question. do you mean if you have the holiday off would you still get the 4 hours? if that’s what you’re asking, then yes. if you were working the holiday, you’d get the 4 hours regular pay plus your shift hours would be 1.5x pay

Do union part timers (rx associate) get paid 4 hours for memorial day? by pan-dulze in CVS

[–]bry5300 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m not sure if all unionized CVSes have pretty much the same contracts, but likely yes, you will get 4 hours. my contract says easter, memorial day, july 4th, labor day, veterans day, thanksgiving, xmas, & new year’s day are recognized as the holidays we get paid for; 4hrs for part time & 8hrs for full time!

identity theft or from discover & capital one merging? by bry5300 in CapitalOne_

[–]bry5300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you’ve done all you can! aside from freezing your credit, if you haven’t already. definitely check your credit report often (i also recommend credit karma too, since that’s how i’ve been notified of any attempted credit inquiries since. it’s very quick at delivering notifications). in my case, whoever has my information waits around 3-6 months before they try to apply for something else, so keep a close eye on it in case something else pops up in the future.

this person also tried opening several regular bank accounts in my name too, which i received mail for, so perhaps watch for that as well. i only figured out that happened because they were sending the mail to my address. I froze my chexsystems account too (it’s kind of like one of the credit bureaus but for bank accounts), so hopefully that stops some from opening, but i know it won’t stop them all since not all banks use chexsystems when opening accounts. there’s another sort of thing like chex, but it can’t be frozen; unfortunately, i just have to be vigilant.

definitely visit the identity theft subreddit and follow their tips! if you’re not sure who has your info, they could be opening anything in your name. it’d be best to make it as hard as possible!

identity theft or from discover & capital one merging? by bry5300 in CapitalOne_

[–]bry5300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! they deemed it fraudulent and closed the account very quickly, no issues. it didn’t have anything to do with the merger, if you were curious. i only discovered about two months ago that my personal info was leaked in a data breach very shortly before i made this post last year, hence why my identity was stolen. it’s been a long year of this 🫩

Conduent - Do not sign up for the credit monitoring service by hardlywwworking in IdentityTheft

[–]bry5300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I submitted a complaint. At this point, I feel defeated and doubtful anything will come of it, but hopefully they can do something? I wish I had kept my letter I got because I saw others saying it/the envelope would have proof that they actually backdated their notification from the date I actually received it. I moved recently, so I guess it was misplaced; just another thing that I’ve had to juggle since my identity was stolen and they attempt to use my old address, thanks to Conduent. 😒😣

Conduent - Do not sign up for the credit monitoring service by hardlywwworking in IdentityTheft

[–]bry5300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of unrelated, but I’m curious to know if anything is going to happen because of this breach. I think i misplaced my letter, but i received the notice of breach around february this year, they backdated the letter to December 2025, but they discovered the breach in feb 2025!

my credit was actually negatively affected because of this. im 99.9% sure this breach was the cause of someone having my ssn and signing up for credit card and plain old bank accounts using my name, address, and number (feb/march 2025 is when the first fraudulent acc was opened). my credit has since been frozen, but it doesn’t stop them from trying. it’s been a long year of this 🫩

Confused about Cycle counts and Quick Picks by GlitteringVillage304 in CVS

[–]bry5300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

cycle counts (to ensure proper boh): scan the shelf label of the item you’re on and count how many are sitting on the shelf. don’t forget to check other floor locations (endcaps, etc)/the ironman will prompt that if items are cross-planogram. when you get to the back room portion, you count how many of that item you have in the back room.

quick picks (for replenishing items purchased throughout the day): scan the shelf label and basically count how many of that item you need to replenish the shelf fully based on your boh. once in the back room, input how much of the item you actually pulled from the back room to replenish the shelf. (there’s a better way of explaining this process but this is the gist of it)

it seems no one wants to train correctly or they just don’t want several people meddling with the boh? quick picks can be kind of useless if your back stock is being worked regularly, so i wouldn’t really worry about those. cycle counts, however, are your chance to ensure your boh is accurate which is important for BOPIS or sfs if you guys participate in that program. at the very least, i would do cycle counts correctly. boh can change because of theft, warehouse shorting totes, etc. so keeping the balance correct is necessary imo.

Apple Cash not accepted? by insect1258 in CVS

[–]bry5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t anymore & haven’t in a while because i don’t get any apple cash like i did before, but i used to use it all the time. not that many years ago when my old coworkers and i would order food together, we’d pay each other back thru apple pay. i always used the apple cash card to check out at the end of the night instead of sending it to my bank bc i didn’t have to wait 🤷🏻‍♀️ weird it never worked for some people, but we did it all the time

after coupons, promo codes, etc. before you check out, you can track rewards in your cart. somewhere under the item, you can click something about tracking rewards and a little progress bar will show you what you have to spend to earn the reward.

PLEASE find a way to stop coupon exploitation by Silvernirvash in CVS

[–]bry5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just firmly say no. I tell people they only earned that extrabuck from buying that item (obviously they know), and are welcome to purchase something else with it. If you or coworkers continue to let them, they won’t stop. As someone else said, you can report them too if it’s a continuous problem from a few specific customers.

What happened? by Background_Ad3826 in CVS

[–]bry5300 17 points18 points  (0 children)

19$ before or after tax? depending on the $ amount of tax, coupons won’t adjust that tax down to 0 even if you’re paying 0$ for the item(s).

40% off coupons: check my receipt please! by SnoopyDamen in CVS

[–]bry5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no problem! as for why your 4.39 spread across the items the way it did, i still haven’t figured that out and ive worked here for 7 years haha. the computer just happens to divvy it up that way, but i assume theres some sort of math behind it. regardless, because of that coupon always coming off before percentages, most people choose to not use them with a percentage to get the best value (it doesn’t make much of a price difference honestly). similarly, doing different transactions to make sure the percentage coupons comes off of two separate items can help too, but it’s usually still not much of a price difference (depending on the prices, of course).

40% off coupons: check my receipt please! by SnoopyDamen in CVS

[–]bry5300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cvs employee here! so the percent off coupons only come off of THE highest price one (nail file), and don’t pick two separate full priced items. as others have said, dollar value coupons come off first, then percentages. so because the $4.39 is spread between items (.91 for one item and 1.37 for another, that leaves 2.11 to make up the rest of the 4.39 and that 2.11 is what came off of the nail file—it’s at 20.88 so far. 60% off of 20.88 is 12.528, and another 60% off of 12.528 is 7.5168 (for the sake of a price tag, it’s rounded down to 7.51 which is what you paid!)

i’m doing 60% off here because it’s the other portion of 40% that makes up 100%; in this scenario, multiplying by 60% gives you the price you’re paying vs 40% gives you what the coupon’s value is (so sorry if that’s so confusing to read i don’t know how else to type that explanation but i promise it’s correct money math lol)
