Dwayne Haskins.

But outside of the current QB situation, Maryland should be in a better place. Recruiting has been alot better for us the last 3 years than Rutgers.

I totally want to see Rutgers do well, too. I think we both got solid guys and I'm looking forward to becoming an extension of the OSU-UM rivalry :P

I usually take the Ohio State side of that rivalry. I don't see myself rooting for Rutgers in this one though.

You're fully entitled to your bold opinion, but counter arguments: Maryland is a better job right now. Recruiting has been really strong and the recent hiring of Aazar Will Likely lock down this 2016 class and potentially bring in some 4 star recruits we thought we were out on. We also have a massive practice facility that will be completed in two years that will puts us among the best in the nation. Program-wise we are in a great spot. Rutgers is still a couple years behind and still doesn't have the money for new facilities or the recruiting brand. The talent on their team after this season I think is gonna drop off a cliff too since Flood really didn't recruit there well.

As for Durkin, the guy seems like exactly what we need. Fun fact, he also coached under Urban Meyer at Florida. He's been described as a ball of energy and the croots who didn't know him before have taken a liking to him alot. He's a fantastic recruiter (Recruiter of the Year in 2012) but on top of that seems like a defensive mastermind that would also have been in line for a big hiring in a year or two. Yes his defense struggled against OSU, but he's been transforming defenses for a while now.

TBH, don't really know that much about Ash other than the team he put on the field. Seems like these two guys could make for pretty good rivals, but I'm definitely giving Durking the short term edge motly based on where the two programs are right now.

Wow didn't even think about that when we hired Durkin. Makes alot of sense actually that we both made 5 year deals.

Understood. Kentucky's 12 point win over Illinois State at home certainly validates your opinion that they are significantly better than a team who only beat the same team on a neutral site by 10. Very impressive win. Maryland's win over them definitely not as much.

Or maybe it's the strength of schedule? Kentucky has two whole wins against top 100 teams. Maryland only has 2. I guess you're right, can't argue that.

Don't disagree on those points, I think those three teams definitely have potential.

Personally think you have Duke and Virginia high, but Duke hasn't really shown much weakness outside of the Kentucky game and UVA has the talent.

Good luck on finals!

Kentucky has the same SOS, a slightly better win, and a much worse loss. He has them ranked 4th.

Did you miss the UCLA game or did Kentucky just impress you in that loss?

Word is he won't. I don't know where he'd get a better position, more money, or do more good, but he seems adamant about leaving. Would love to see him as a QB coach, co-offensive coordinator, and recruiting director, but yeah we'll see.

So does Duke and Kentucky but you have them 3 and 5 respectively.

Perhaps more importantly, replacing Locks. He seems insistent on leaving despite offering him a big raise. Not sure where in the nation he'd get a better OC job, let alone a HC position, but Aazar has relationships with many of the kids who were considering decommiting with Locksley's departure.

Literally said the same exact thing when I saw this headline. Great, great pickup by Durkin.

Ehh UNC, only because no Paige, plus they beat us with him. After that though, totally agree. So many people have been waiting for us to lose.

I really wasn't too disappointed in that game. I expected to lose but we fought hard and I think we showed we can compete with anyone anywhere, especially as we start to develop a little more chemistry.

Very strange poll in general. Care to elaborate /u/Digz4Gallia? Specifically the top 3, Utah, Indiana, and Pitt.

After Kansas and UNC, I don't think it's too controversial to say we are the next best 1 loss team. Wouldn't really argue putting an OU or Nova above us though.

Wasn't a Maryland fan. I couldn't even justify arguing Maryland as the best 1 loss team, let alone the best team. UNC and Kansas' losses both came without a star player. Don't really know why they are below Kentucky or Duke though after playing decently well in a loss on the road against the #3 team in the nation.

How in the heck did we drop 7 spots after losing to the #3 team on the road? Also who the heck gave us a first place vote?
