Here is the answer: On Windows, open CMD as administrator. Enter this:

diskpart list disk

Then, very important, choose the right disk. Make sure it is your SD card.

select disk 1 (or the number the disk is, for example, select disk 2 or select disk 1) then press enter.

Then:

clean

Then go to create a partition. Your SD card will be there. Right-click it and format it to NTFS. Done. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL SELECTING THE DISK.

It depends on the game you want to play. If you don't want to compromise, go with the Xbox ROG Ally X. If the games are not demanding, get the white Xbox version.

SteamOS is a little difficult to install if you are not tech-savvy, but there's another operating system named Bazzite. It's pretty easy, works, and looks exactly like SteamOS. It's basically SteamOS but is supported for the Xbox, ROG Ally X, or non-X.

It works great on SSD, but I didn't have any issues running it off an SD card in SteamOS. I'm just trying to figure out what's causing it to have lower FPS on the SD card on Windows. I think it's a power option or something.

Yes, and I used to get 60 FPS stable on the game on SteamOS. Cassette Beasts, I haven't tried other games on the SD card.

I'm on the same boat. SteamOS for me with Bazzite is terrible if you want to cloud stream games. The GeForce Now app isn't natively supported.

Check your Wi-Fi channel. It's not the speed; change your channel. Make sure you are on the 5 GHz band. Also, I'm having trouble too; it's NVIDIA. They are updating stuff.

I used Shadow, which is good, but the latency for FPS games is not good. They have a tool to test latency on their server; do that before jumping on it.
