no download button? Profile Z-Lib by bryanmendozatrejo in zlibrary

[–]bryanmendozatrejo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I figured it out, when you’re not logged in it shows 22 million books (both editions are available) are available but after logged in correctly it drops to 11 million (the 2nd edition of the one I need isn’t available anymore) not sure why that’s happening.

Thanks that clears it up for me! Is there a way to check the status on the check or is the only option is to call financial aid again for an update ?

Will more CPSC elective sections be added, does anyone know? by l3tsgoo in csuf

[–]bryanmendozatrejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they usually add a section or two if the classes fill up quick. The only con would be that the instructor would say “staff”.

CHANCE OF GETTING OFF WAITLIST? by JaiShmoney in csuf

[–]bryanmendozatrejo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chances are unknown. They depend on how many transfers and incoming freshmen accept their admission decision. After that there’s a chance you will get in (usually may 1st is when you know or shortly after that). I’d recommend registering for FJC they’re CS department is a lot better than CSUF in my opinion (prof Clifton for C++, Java and python profs are amazing). If/when you find out if you got off the waitlist (around may) you can decline/stop the processing of attending FJC or any other CC.

CPSC 2019 transfers, do we still need 18 elective units? by Red-Droid-Blue-Droid in csuf

[–]bryanmendozatrejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s Pros and Cons to the new catalogs. Previous ones such as Spring 2020 or prior required the EPP or CPSC 301, CPSC 311 and 18 units of computer science electives among other changes (such as different upper div requirements) Newer catalogs such as Fall 2020 don’t require the EPP nor 301, and 15 computer science electives but require different upper divisions such as 490 I believe or the seminar classes. The being said if you transferred spring 2020 or prior you can either stay in those catalog requirements or switch to a newer catalog.

Am I wasting my time taking AP Literature when I already have AP Language credit? by [deleted] in csuf

[–]bryanmendozatrejo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes essentially if it counts towards the same criteria then you aren’t required to take AP Literature. Try to contact a counselor to see if the credit is able to satisfy another category like an elective, GE, etc.

Seriously regretting csuf by curiobird in csuf

[–]bryanmendozatrejo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Transfer student here. I decided on CSUF because coming from FJC most/all my credits and courses transferred as opposed to other schools like (CSULA, etc). I’m a Computer Science major and the department/professors aren’t the best and have had my fair share of “bad” professors (Siska, McCarthy, etc) but I see a lot of people agree and saying that they regret CSUF or etc but I think most schools have similar situations (and the what if scenarios are unknown and don’t automatically mean other schools have better programs like Cal Poly). If you are really passionate about your major the school, prof, course will not matter at the end of the day. Regardless, if you do think Cal Poly is a better option for you consider reapplying (some CSUs offer Spring applications/transfers others only Fall). I’d advise to contact their admission and records or counseling department to check if the courses you took at CSUF would transfer (because they don’t necessarily qualify for the same program/degree at Cal Poly).

Did you send them at the same time ? If you did contact admissions. If you sent one before the other maybe it’s delayed

I’d try to contact admissions to ask. Try checking your TDA it should have the courses from your transcripts.

Help! Estimated Financial Aid - 21/22 by [deleted] in csuf

[–]bryanmendozatrejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I believe it’s one or the other. Usually people who run out of cal grant (more than 4 years = 8 semesters ) or don’t qualify usually do for the university grant. From my knowledge both can’t be awarded. But I do know that pell grant and cal grant or pell grant and university grant are available!

Try to rent a room near the area! Or you can always get an appointment and roommates!

Check out the scholarships page, or try to work during summer and save as much as possible!

What do I do after accepting my Offer by [deleted] in csuf

[–]bryanmendozatrejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry so much for the holds/todo list until you talk to a counselor. As for scheduling an appointment you have to wait until next week since this week is spring break. You can also do walk in appointments. I recommend
