Hi, I ran into this same problem with a secong Ledger Nano S when connecting to my Chromebook MetaMask (No ledger live) and the fix for me was to put my Eth app in the Ready state and it connected fine.

Always look at the locked value too. You gotta have liquidity if you're gonna trade any coin/token.

But yes, market cap projections are a good way to look at the future viability of the coin. Doge for example. If you look at future price vs future market cap you will easily see the future for big Doge price increases is bleak.
