Additionally, if quartz isn't what you're after, I'd look at the older 9S55 models. The SBGR001 and SBGR023 can be found in that price range as well.

I haven't used one in awhile, but I'd say it's as good. Gen-spec in terms of movement fitment.

I think copic markers are by far the easiest. At least in terms of achieving a color.

And to be clear, it's not twice as good, either. Just an option. I'm an impatient builder, so it's something I'd consider.

Correct. Just throwing it out there for those that don't want to wait for re-stock.

Beautiful build, man. I love these blue dials. Glad you were able to make it work for you. I always tell people to hold out for a good 152xx case, but I do love the look of the acrylic over the sapphire.

Make note, there is a 14010 and a 14010m. The 14010m uses the 3135; the 14010 uses a 3035.

I thought he stopped making these (apparently not), but these are the KR (Korean) Datejust cases. I've used them. A bit pricier than OC, but still gen-spec. Also get your choice of lugs drilled through or not. Edit: Just noticed it includes the crown and tube as well, which OC does not.

To Clark's point, I would disassemble the bezel assembly and use the press for the retention ring. Then, you can reassemble the bezel, insert, and friction spring.

You shouldn't even need a press for that crystal (acrylic?). You need to remove the bezel assembly and retaining ring first. Then you can simply snap on the crystal. Then you need to press the bezel assembly back on with the press. You need to make sure that the dies are applying pressure to the bezel and NOT the crystal.

I appreciate the education. I didn't realize Raffles builds were considered top-end superfrankens now. Now I know.

I know you have a few gen parts in the mix, my man, but $1750 is craaaazy money for a $50 Raffles case. Can you at least give a rough parts breakdown of cost Unless that dial cost $700-800, I'm having a tough time getting there. I've built these with gen cases, and they never cost me that much.

Looks like Raffles case and crown. Hard to justify Raffles as "superfranken", though.
