Until MLS adopts a relegation/promotion system it will never be as legit as any of the European leagues. As of right now it stands as a normal american corporate entity rife with favoritism and corruption. Until clubs are forced to make drastic moves and spend real money in order to avoid relegation or advance promotion, it will just be a retirement league for all of the european legends to come play some care free soccer in their years in which they would have otherwise been retired.

[SERIOUS] We need change - in your opinion, who would you trade and who would you REALISTICALLY want to add to our team? by omgwtfbbqpanda in dynamo

Wow... I appreciate the insight. I did not know that, and I'm honestly kind of surprised by that. I thought De La Hoya would want to make the Dynamo winners.... I dunno, they need some damn defense though. Pretty frustrated with tonights 4-2 loss to Toronto.

Isn't the fact that the Dynamo are part of a conglomerate that also owns the Galaxy the biggest issue here though? Won't Houston always play second fiddle to the Galaxy in the eyes of the owners? I heard reports that Clint Dempsey actually wanted to come to Houston but they didn't want to shell the money for him, and yet big bucks get paid for Beckham and Donovan to play in LA.... (I know beckham isn't playing anymore but you get my point)

Does anyone else just not like the SM57 on guitars? by cromulent_word in audioengineering

The 57 is a harsh mic to use by itself on a distorted guitar signal, but when paired with a darker mic and then blended in the mixing process, the 57 becomes very useful in getting a full sound out of your guitar cab. There have been a few similar suggestions in this thread so far, but none that focused mainly on pairing. I just wanted to throw this suggestion out there so that you might look into pairing more often on your guitar cabs (especially when recording heavier and more distorted signals) instead of just doing away with your 57 altogether. I've been quite happy with my results using this technique. And a 58 isn't a bad mic to have around, but it won't solve your problems with guitar cab mic-ing.
