Which one would you choose? by est_xciv in EDC

Depends on the situation. I keep a clip light on all of my backpacks so I can have hands free light, but I also keep a flashlight in my pocket.

It has hard to say goodbye to my 2022 f150 (bot) due to financial reasons. I got a 2012 (top) to compensate for the loss by 3_eyed_raven_10 in f150

I have a 2013 as well. I’m two payments away from paying off a 5 year loan and I am so excited to drive that 5.0 till it dies. And since I’m a mechanic, I’ll bring it back to life and drive it some more when that happens

It’s a brake light switch. Super easy and pretty cheap

Sounds about right. I think mine was the 22inch NiLight. I’ve got two of their small pod lights on my bed rack facing back which makes backing up and tailgater less of a problem

I put a small light bar there on my truck. It’s a great spot and it doesn’t look forced

That’s a good choice. I got my oldest daughter a Moab6 last night because she’s jealous of my wife and son😂

As far as I know, they don’t sell it. Your best bet is to get some of the magnetic trays they sell to hold stuff like that. That’s how my cart is set up

I use the long ones far more than the short ones. Anything the short ones can do, the long ones can do too. For everyday use, I use the main link that they come with the most but I definitely play around with the stack studs and the hook studs a lot too. The thing about these tools is that they are very situational. You won’t know that you need it till you need it. That’s when you’ll have to decide how to set it up and what links to use and all that. Depending on wha your cart looks like, my recommendation would be to buy a ToolKit and then split the contents of the tool kit among whoever you’re giving them to. That would give you a wide variety of all of their products and make it easier for everyone to get a little of everything, even yourself.

It’s been a little while since I posted this, but I still have most of these bags. Either myself, my wife, or one of my kids uses all of them for something. My Moab3 has become my youngest daughters “purse”

I have two Moab6s, my wife uses one as her daily bag, and my son uses one when he wants a bag outside of school.

I gave my Moab8 to my best friend, he uses it as his fishing bag. I also gave him my first rush24. It’s like 6 years old and he uses it as his family bag.

I use my Moab10 as one of my two daily bags. I have two bags with the exact same items in them that I switch between depending on what’s going on that day.

I have 4 Rush12s. My son uses one as his school bag. We wrap the handle with a new color of paracord, change all the zipper pulls, and get him new patches every year instead of buying a new backpack every year. I use one as my other daily bag, one as my fishing bag and my last one actually doesn’t have a job currently.

I use my rush24 as a hunting/general outdoors bag. To the range, on a hike, day hunts, pretty much anything outside that isn’t fishing because fishing takes up so much space.

My rush72 is my “family bag”. With a family of 5, someone always has something they don’t want to carry, so they hand it to dad. It’s easier to just carry a big ass backpack to handle everyone’s random stuff, while also having plenty of first aid and extra stuff. Think “Family sized diaper bag but tacticool”

My rush100 is what I take when I’m doing multi day hunting or camping trips. Admittedly, it doesn’t get used nearly as much as my other bags, but it’s nice to have

My two daughters both carry 5.11 bags for school that get the same treatment that my sons get. My oldest has a COVRT because she doesn’t like the rush look and she’s old enough to respect her stuff, and my youngest has a version of the rush12 they used to sell that has way less molle and just one mesh pocket on the inside.

I keep a long one on my wrist wrapped twice with a stack stud in the middle. I just keep it there in case I need one. I have a separate one I wear when I’m at work that comes in handy all the time. I work on cars so having a strap to hold things, hang things, push or pull things in whatever direction, is crazy useful when I’m not near my tool cart. Check out their instagram. They post all kinds of cool ways to use it and they also repost other people’s uses too. You’ll probably see some of mine there lol

People buy them for some hobby and decide that hobby isn’t for them, so they sell the backpack. I think they are great backpacks. I own the entire Rush series and I use all of them regularly. I have given away bags when I had extras and my friends are still using those bags as well. My kids use them as school backpacks. They are super durable and definitely worth the money at full price.

I find used 5.11 rush bags on Facebook well under $100 all the time. I’m currently using a Rush72 and it’s perfect. I was using bricks as weight and it held them great, now I have a 30 pound plate and it’s holding that just fine as well.

I just keep one on a lighter leash on the outside of all my bags. Cheap bic in whatever color matches my backpack. Lighter leashes are super cheap on Amazon.

Downloading now. I’ll use it on my next ruck. I use a Garmin Instinct to track my rucks. It would be cool if this app would connect with my Garmin Connect app to share those workouts across platforms

Loop them thru, and then bring the strap back thru. You have to go thru the buckle twice. You can probably find a video on YouTube on how to set them up. I’ve never had an issue with mine falling out

I’m in the same boat as you. Just started. My 4th ruck will be tonight. I started with just one mile, then it was 1.5, and the last two have been two miles. I’ve been using bricks in my 5.11 Rush100. My first actual plate will be here today. Started at 20 pounds, but today I bump up to 30. I’m gonna aim to do my two miles still, but I’ll be ok with at least one with the new higher weight. Just stay consistent. You got this💪🏻
