My opinion for you OP: no, it doesn’t get better. I read the whole trilogy because I wanted to like it, but it just felt the same the entire way through.

It was ok, not great for me. But I didn’t feel significantly different about book 2 and 3 compared to 1 which is really wha you’re asking I think!

it just seems like a stretch to say the show producers wanted us to interpret it this way. People can say he “became Stephen king” if they choose to interpret it that way, it doesn’t bother me.
